Good morning, Carolyn, did you ever get any feedback about your picture of Yankees foot? Right now Dixie is perched at the nest....

I got these from a fella on FB. He shared these scaps with me. Yankee's foot looks swollen. Poor Guy! This is not good!!

Just after I took this capture Dixie flew off and then it seemed to me Yankee was struggling to stand up. His injury is painful I am sure. Poor boy.........

Okay, I am scratching my head.... Yankee was lying in the nestbox, and Dixie seemed to be kakking at him. I wondered if she was upset because he was lying there. But sometimes her head seemed to be following something in the air... That made me worry that an intruder is around. Yankee seemed to become agitated- even pulling on his sore foot. Finally he struggled to stand, seeming to be a little stronger than yesterday when I saw him- or was he more motivated ,if an intruder was snooping. I didn’t like the way he launched himself-yesterday his wings were extended and he sailed off. Tonight his wings were only partially unfolded and he dropped out of sight quickly. Yankee, we are all pulling for you!!! (I say with teary eyes...)
PS Thankyou everyone for the catches of Yankee!!

OH WOW...poor thing. Our falcons are already having a tough year...I do hope he will be ok...so glad you got those pics from the FB "fella", Carolyn....and thanks to all for the observations. Gonna be real tough for him to mate, I would think..I do hope nothing is broken and that he can recover from this. This is when I worry about the bands... :girlsad3:

Dixie could go and get something. I have not been following but if it is his foot sore, with a bit of rest it could heal. saw this with one our juveniles. it is just bad timing here. the ideal thing right now would be for Dixie to hunt and Yankee incubate.

hope all goes well here. sorry, too many adverse things this year so I will check in form time to time.

I haven't been "glued" to the cam, but have been checking frequently. No Yankee visit while I've been checking.
