1pm - Spark lands on ledge for a few seconds. It looked as if he was making his way to the box. I think he may have had some prey. He and Durand conversed, then he took off. Durand is still in the box. Looking relaxed, and watching baby.

1:34pm - Durand left the box for a few seconds. Went to the ledge and looked out, then returned. I think this might be her signal to Spark to bring food. She's looking great today...

2:25pm - Baby is starting to get restless. Durand left the box, went to the ledge, looking out and quickly returned. Again, I think this is her signal to Spark to bring lunch...

2:32pm - Durand once again leaves the box, for just a few seconds look out on ledge.

She's wiggling a lot, but I think she's doing it as a way to calm baby.

2:43pm - Durand leaves box alarm calling and is gone for about 1 minute. We see a parent arrive on the ledge and proceed to the box, and a flyby in the distance.

It's Spark who brings prey in, but Durand arrives very quickly to take the prey and start the feed. She's actually eating a little herself, and starts to feed baby.

from earlier today.....the connection between Scout and Red, White, Boom is that the worker who batted Scout down with the broom was up on a rooftop doing something about lights for R,W,B.
The falcons are awesome parents and will work hard to protect their young while they are fledging and learning to hunt. unfortunately, R,W,B tends to come about that time.

I was hoping that since we finally have young after two years of nothing, that some of the Columbus people would take it upon themselves to warn/educate/remind the mayor's office and whoever is in charge of R,W,B just how to safely operate around falcons for the safety of all.....humans and falcons.

We KNOW that's how Scout met her death. since Orville died during the same prepare and take down for R,W,B it is POSSIBLE that he met the same fate.

hard hats. working in pairs. using umbrellas to divert the birds are safe methods of co-existing. that's all I was getting at.

Three years later so far we have one hatch. it's not impossible but tuff for both the male and the female to be first time parents. regardless, we don't want to lose any more!

3:59 - Durand just got up, went to ledge, looked out and took off. Baby is alone in box right now. I did not hear any calling prior to her departure.
