Now everybody's uncovered, including eggs. Well, she went over & covered the eggs. Both chicks are moving.

There is some sort of rally going on by this building. I wouldn't think they're supposed to do that at Falcon nesting time... E2 is nearby cause you hear him complaining every now & then. I also hear a police siren. Hope they're trying to get people outta there!

Edit: Its quiet now so I think they were chased away.

I'm trying not to be too concerned about it cause it was uncovered for awhile a couple of days ago too. The other one has been uncovered quite a bit today too. I think Dorothy's concentrating on the eggs & not paying much attention to the hatched chicks.

That was E2 in the nest cause Dorothy just returned.

I do think the chicks are warm enough...that's not my concern...my concern is that they both are deliberately ignoring it, not even trying to pull it close...and they both ignored it on the feed. Hopefully, things can turn around here....

I did post both vids on the FB page. Maybe somebody of interest will start paying attention. I did check Kate st. John's blog a couple of hours ago. she's a tad behind and I certainly can appreciate that...

Thanks, SGB! I'm hoping that once all the hatching is done, the attention will be turned to the babies. I can't tell now whether she's got both chicks under her or not. I'm not seeing the one that was in the shade, unless its behind the eggshell. I gave up trying to see anything on the livecam for now cause its basically worthless.

Here is what Kate St. John said on her opinion of Chick #2 in the Pittsburgh Facebook group:

I've been looking hard at chick#2 for about a day & have reached the conclusion that he (the small one) has a developmental problem. His movements are odd/uncoordinated. He moves out of the nest zone, a dangerous activity for a chick this young. D has tried to move him back but there must be something about him that puzzles her. (I've seen that look on her face.) Meanwhile Chick#1 is just fine.

That is very sad news, but I think we all expected that was going to happen--there is always a hope though. :girlsad3: Thanks for posting Kate St. John's thoughts, Kris.

I know Dorothy sure thought another hatch was happening, unless that was wishful thinking on her part.

I've got the live cam up & hear Dorothy munching on an eggshell. Guess it could be an old one, but its more likely that its a fresh one.
