Thanks, Ethel. Last I knew Blue was over on the top of that cement structure on the garage next door.

Orange just appeared in the box, and appears to be eating.

girls can fledge up to a week later than the boys , depending on their development.
I think the longer Orange takes, the stronger she will be. it is just day 39 for last hatch and day 42 for the other three. I thought the boys fledged a bit early so the girls are doing fine. If last egg hatched was a female you do not want her going yet and I think orange was last egg hatched. Best for her to go at day 43 and on. So could be a bit yet.

parents know this and will watch her. I always worry about the females but those little males can be daredevils LOL

Good job everyone

I believe it's certain Orange was the last to hatch. That is why Craig cared for her for a while. She was most definitely eating, but don't see her now. She has a few wispy white feathers on her head, and her tail is a bit short, but she doesn't have any downy fluff anywhere.

Good to hear that Orange was eating a little while ago. A few minutes ago I dropped in on Kim and Linda on the parking garage roof across the street from the nest site. All six peregrines were in view: Orange on the box ledge, Blue on a window sill on the 11th story of the Dupont Building (four stories higher than she was this morning), one of the males on an hvac unit on the Nemours Building roof, another male on the Wilmington Trust Building roof, Red Girl on the pipe on the Brandywine Building roof (making occasional reconaissance flights from there) and the adult male almost all the way up on the Chase Building (1201 N. Market St., where Kim works), looking across town and down at all his family from more than 20 stories up.

Thanks SO MUCH for the report, Greg. So glad Kim has company down there. And glad to hear all seems to be going well down there. Am relieved that Blue gained some altitude on her own. If you see Kim later, give her a big hug of gratitude from the rest of us.

Yes, Kim needs lots of Hugs by now! I'm glad they are doing well so far, with the weather the way it is.

Greg thanks for your report. Happy that Blue is gaining altitude. We watched the boys fly last night like they were Pros. Slimmer than Blue is though.

Orange just came into the nest box clutching her breakfast, but she seems more intent on flapping her wings around the box than eating at the moment.

Thanks Ethel for the captures. She is working to get ready for the big day! Yes, Greg she does look grown up. Haven't seen her that close for a few days.

Great pictures of Orange. Taking a quick at home break from our watches in Harrisburg right now.

Fledge Update

Just got back from spending a couple of hours with Kim keeping watch over the falcons. All were accounted for when I got there around 8:00 except for Blue. Blue had been taking short flights around town, and Kim had lost her and found her at least 3 times this morning. So I watched Orange flapping at the nest box while Kim went in search of Blue.

About half an hour or so after I started watching Orange, a juvie flew over the garage roof and landed on the Marriott roof. Thank goodness that was Blue! White flew over to join Blue, and eventually they both flew to the Wilmington Trust roof. Blue was pretty hungry at that point, as she was the only one that didn't get breakfast earlier. Pretty soon, Red Girl flew in with Blue's breakfast. Blue grabbed the food right away and wouldn't let her brother near it. I didn't blame her one bit!

As Blue is flying pretty well and hasn't been grounded once, Kim will now be focusing on Orange. If all goes well, Orange will wait until tomorrow at least before fledging.

P.S. Good luck to Jane, Reenie, and the others starting the Harrisburg fledge watch today.

Thanks SO much for that report, Ethel. we learned on Sunday how frustrating it is to find a missing juvie. Many hugs to you, Kim, and everyone else watching down there. And glad Blue got that breakfast.

Checking in before going back to downtown HBG. Am almost positive one of the boys was in the box when I tuned in. He was working on some leftovers, and then disappeared on the ledge.

Also, this morning White flew to the nest box! You should have seen how happy Orange was!!! :)

They were beaking each other and then laying right next to each other. At one point you just saw both of their heads peaking over.

He was still there when I left at 1:00 but not sure if he still is. Will find out when I head back...

Kim wonderful news about White Boy visiting his sister. That makes me so happy. I am glad you are not on the roof now. It is 88 degrees here right now. We really lucked out by being cold the other days. You can always get warm with clothing, but how much can you take off! LOL!! Such good news all around.

Thanks for posting that great video. I like that building. It seems safe for them.

Great video and even better story about White and Orange. White is a sociable guy but for today at least he seems to have decided that Orange is a nicer sister than Blue is.
