thanks for the info on Blackdog...I'll go change it...

so, who named her "Nora"?

Now, regarding King...as usual, I cannot tell how many eggs...could be 4...but, that's not the issue...they have been unattended now for over 2 hrs (if you can believe the archives~which is tough, since the time stamp is cut off..ya just have to go by pics)...which, is no biggie, I guess, except they've normally been there..

Image

OK...as I'm typing this, the female has returned..and is upset about something...not on the eggs yet..

I'm not sure how many eggs either, but they have been unattended for a significant part of today. She has not incubated much. I wonder if something is going on.

She is unnamed, what Kitten was saying is Nora and Alison confirmed it's a new female.

No-one named this bird Nora. She was not given a name. I am the one who read her bands and provided them, along with the information, to Raptor Resource. For your information, here is part of my post:

_______________

Image

I believe this second pic gives me the correct band number; 16/U. This is by far the best view I have ever had of the bands.

Enlarged and enhanced:

Image

If I am correct, this is an unnamed female born in 2011 at the State Correctional Facility/University Bridge, St. Cloud, Stearns County, Minnesota. She was hatched on May 20 of that year, and fledged on July 1.

Her father is Lewis, banded black/green 76/P, born in 2003 at Community First Bank, Fargo, Cass County, North Dakota. Lewis's father is Dakota Ace, banded black/red *H/D, born in 1997 at Sioux Falls, Minnehaha County, South Dakota. His mother is Frieda, banded black/green 24/A, born in 2001 at the Alma nest.

Her mother is Octane, banded black/red 11/K, born in 2008 at the American Republic nest, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa. Octane's father, banded black/green 63/B, was born in 2004 at the Woodmen Tower nest in Omaha, which means that his parents would be Zeus (banded black/red X/R, and now sadly gone from the nest, and Amelia (banded black/red *E/*V, whom we lost in the late summer of 2006).

What do you think, Amy?

And Amy's reply:

Alison, I agree 100%. That is very clearly a 16/U. I'll send the info along and get it entered on the page. Thanks so much!

Amy

Alison, great to see you again!!!...thanks for providing the Blackdog information and your communication with Amy..

The confusion over the name "Nora" was probably on my part...

Now, can you id the male? LOL

No more eggs today, and it looks like she has settled down.

Something is going on here. I caught both falcons here today, but the box was vacant more than not. They are not there now, at the end of the day.

Woah! What put the cam over there?
Will check this site sunday...maybe she isn't ready to begin full incubation? I take it there are no occasional watchers at the site's?

Totally agree!! She appears on edge all day except late in the day in the stills...The egg that has white on it she doesn't like it and rolled it out...The male rolled it back in...but she is so worked up that she didn't even incubate properly...

Note that she no longer looks well fed either........Male incubates frequently for long periods...

The eggs were incubated today, mostly by Brent. There was a stand-off tonight that went on for quite some time, but he won. Either that, or they were talking about how they could possibly be getting snow on May 1st!
