The report from CSU does not sound hopeful at all Bev.

Gonna be realistic...if chick is alive and shell crushed or opens to early...the yolk isn't absorbed and hemorrages...Hope Beau doesnt come back on...

You do have a point, Matrix...I don't know what I hope to happen at this point. I'm watching her now...barely...cam is really struggling. Maybe lots of people on? She's still treating it as an intact egg...having missed the other two collapses, I have no clue how long it was before the eggs were disposed of...

and....I've lost the cam...boo...

I had the cam for about a minute before it froze, but nothing happening but a parent incubating. Facing the cam.

Got it back. She looked under herself at the egg (just checking). Now eating gravel. Has a feather stuck to her beak.

Well...to be positive...the longer the egg stays intact...(It seemed to be the one side in the pics) the better chances, and she may help it out, if the membrane hardens...

I bet the cam is overloaded...I am not even gonna try it...LOL

Well, since I'm having a hard time getting the cam, I thought I'd do some research...boy are there some crazy stories out there about cracked/dented eggs...Of course, chickens/pigeons...and some very interesting fixes...from nail polish to wax to tape....and it worked!!! of course, nobody is gonna go up there and coat the egg with pink nail polish, but the other thing they were saying was if the membrane was not broken (even in a dented egg) it could still hatch...of course, that's assuming this egg is fertile...

Somehow I've been able to keep it open without it stopping to much I didn't see any fluids but that noe saying anything.
I'll still keep hoping for a while.

That egg looks very damaged. :girlsad3: The worst thing is I think there was a live chick in it the way Swift would periodically suddenly look underneath herself like she heard something or felt something. She's still doing that, so I don't know. (Of course, by now there could be a hatch but until someone catches her up we won't know.) She just did a scooch now too, so I don't think there's been a hatch.

I got a quick look at the egg when Swift re-positioned herself & it doesn't look anymore damaged than it was--still intact.
