The glare is so bad in the morning. Ugh. Thanks sgb.

Matrix, I will hunt down some Cobb pictures from banding, but there is no where to perch except on the platform. All the islands around are marshy and covered with the sea on the high tide.

I believe this is a second food gift...didn't see it arrive...

Mitchell in the igloo while she ate.. (not well, I might add..she drops a lot.)

She then went into the igloo with Mitchell...maybe one bow before Mitchell left...

I do hope this girl heals ok...but, I wish 15/ AV could come back...I think Mitchell liked her better...

She's still in there...you can just barely see her on the inside cam.

Mitchell delivered another meal, he is right behind her. You are right sgb, she is really struggling to eat. I've never seen anything like this.

I remember something much worse than this in Harrisburg--I believe in 2009. Remember Yellow Girl? It is believed that she flew into something & broke her bottom beak. She was able to eat, but it took her a long time. There was discussion then about beaks, etc. so if someone wants to check with Reenie, she might recall some of what she was told by biologists. They finally agreed to try to trap & help her, but by then she already left the area. This is probably a jaw problem as opposed to a beak problem, but the info might still be helpful.

Boy catwoman, I sure do remember that...and if I remember correctly, the bottom beak was totally gone..she had none...(if we're thinking about the same thing). I remember we all researching up a storm. Some documents were encouraging in terms of it possibly regrowing, if there was anything left of it...we know that beaks have to be trimmed on birds in captivity. Of course, then we have that famous eagle that they made the prosthetic for (upper beak)

Like I said earlier..I don't think this is a beak issue, but a lower jaw issue. I guess the other question..is it the result of the fight or has she had it for a while..I'm leaning toward the fight as it appears to be getting worse...Haven't seen her left eye yet today...

did get pics of a short bonding session..I'll post in a few.

Here are some photos from Cobb Island:

Coming toward the island. The structure on the right was a shack with an eagle nest on the top that was lost in Sandy. The structure on the left is the falcon tower.

The falcon tower. The igloo is not visible from this view.

The shack, now gone.

The tower.

We catch them perching on the wooden electronics enclosure a lot.

Oh, I don't like seeing that! I'm wondering if its painful for her to move her jaw to eat, & if it is, it would also be painful for her to feed young ones. I just don't think she's healthy enough to become a mother, but what can ya do? :girlsad3:

Hope so, Bev. I don't want to go through another death again...and I hope Mitchell grows to like her more. Right now I think his hormones just make him see her as an egg maker. Silly as it is, I want Mitchell to be happy...since I think he adored Renetta!!

Earlier today...I thought I had a lot more pics, but realized I never turned on the recorder. Mitchell was doing some housekeeping..he was walking around the platform, picking up leftovers...

The female appeared right after this, in the box, but I wasn't fast enough for the pic. Guess he gave the above tidbit to her. Then poof...both gone..
