I suspect the DEC has been in discussion with the owners. It is an unprotected building meaning humans can gain illegal access. It is a dangerous site inside and out, with much debris including broken windows and glass. The owners and building maintenance are trying to maintain security and routinely block entrances into keep intruders out. The location where the falcons were frequenting & where watchers thought to be a scrape was not a good situation for eggs or eyases. I assume it was boarded up this morning for the safety of the birds.

P&DC will get along fine, they are still mating and may find a better location or they may not have a successful nest site this year. As for DT...we watch and see. From Joyce

Very sad Donna. Hard day. And as Carly already pointed out, look at the change in behavior within 1 hour.

B working in box. DC vocalizes and arrives on deck other side of main cam. B very low bows, chupping - fast. He just flew off.

I never expected him DT so quick after either Carly! Gee, feel bad for Pigott! I know we're not suppose to feel for them but no one can tell me I CAN'T!

What's the cubby Donna? Is that something different from the spot they boarded up?

It's another undisclosed part of the building, a nice big flat area with a roof and safer. Not sure if there is scrape material but they seem to like it there too! Kinda like a NOOK!

We all feel for them Donna. If we didn't feel for these birds, they would be extinct.

It's just they are wired differently than us, so when we try to apply our "human" thinking on their behaviors, doesn't work the way we think it should. I, personally, have had to accept that this season, all over the place, not just here.

So, by all means... feel what you need. I am.. anger, sadness, frustration, worry, happy, etc. etc.. Waiting for more happiness...

They always seem to find a place to go when in doubt! Yes, she needs to stay put for both her and Beauty's sake. Prego women can be brutal!

I just got home and what a sad day.

too bad no one thought to take action before DC and P got busy( like at beginning of season). I find it very, very strange
