:callonme: IN YEARS PAST, ONCE A JUVIE FLEDGES IS IT TYPICAL FOR THEM TO MAKE A RETURN VISIT TO THE LEDGE OR NOT TYPICAL AT THIS SITE? AND IF NOT, CONSIDERING ALL THE PLACES THEY MAY GO TO, DO GROUND OBSERVERS EVER WITNESS THE TRAINING IN THE AIR THE PARENTS GIVE THEM?

Hi SWINWK...Yes, they usually return to this ledge. Having said that, I've never watched a single chick before so Zoom may not make this a regular stop. There are too many other buildings to explore!! The females are usually the last to return because this nest ledge is so high. (That's one of the reason I suspect Zoom might be male)

As far as ground observers, there is no formal fledge watch. However, anowlwithknees and rosekk17 live in the area and sometimes they go down in search of the family. Either one of them could probably give you a good idea of how familiar the people in this area are with the falcons. From talking to rosekk17, these falcons are NOT easy to spot in this area.

This was the second pass..first pass was closer and ran parallel to the ledge. Who ever was/is on the ledge was already there for both passes..

Durand moved from the top of the nestbox to poking around the corner of it.

Currently she is out on the ledge. She's petty much been on the ledge all morning somewhere.

Based on vocals, I would say that Durand is on the ledge. Thinking she might be headed to the box, I switch there..but then also hear what could be a second falcon..Based on her "echups" I would say the falcon in the air is Spark. Of course, there is a small possibility that its Zoom..who may have followed Spark up to the ledge..who knows..
