Donna posted this under Duncan Mills, and I thought it would be of interest here:

July 30, 2013 - Toronto - Don Mills
Quest has a new boyfriend
Marion Nash Reports:

CPF volunteer Bruce Massey has been keeping an eye on the family to make sure Quest is managing to keep up with the needs of her kids without Kendal and has discovered today that Quest has a new suetier.

Bruce was able to confirm by the band number 50 over X that the new male is Skye produced at the Etobicoke Bloor and Islington nest in 2011 and is on site courting her.

We are still not sure weather Kendal will ever recover well enough to be released back to the wild but we certainly never expected him to be replaced so soon.

We will be keeping an eye on the site to make sure that this years offspring are doing ok and will keep you posted on how they are doing and on the budding new romance.

And, I have to add, we posted about Skye being the resident male at Brantford Grace Anglican Church back in May 2013. Do we know what happened with the female from that pair? I guess I wonder if Skye is involved with both?

It's exciting to report that our youngster who was take to Toronto Wildlife has now recovered from a fractured clavicle and has done some flying in captivity to help recuperate, and is ready for release!

Thursday Sept 5 in the late afternoon, we expect that the MNR will be bringing our male back home to be released. He is as yet unnamed but has been banded as 'W over 71'.

More details tomorrow! :)

I was surprised MNR was releasing him back at site - he's been gone too long for that. I dont' know if he can hunt or not.

I can only go by what is done here. And I do not know everything ( We are told the window of opportunity for this year was closed for juveniles a few weeks ago. Which means they have to wait for next season if in rehab. and will have to work with a compatible falconer to learn flight skills and hunting skills( He will be chased from site as adults are out of that part of their hormonal life right now. ).

I hope they will monitor the youngster and be ready to pull him back in if need be

well Carly, I could be wrong also.

We saw the young learn for themselves on the Pembina , but they had food to go back to.

and as we speak Gord may try same thing with Green so who knows. He has never released a youngster this late. I do know our adults are close to home and were joined at hip to green but I also think too much time has passed. I will post in Edmonton after weekend as I have lots to post about Pembina etc but have not had time .
I am very nervous as I will be there
