I am so sorry Rudd. I follow your posts of Axel. and I knwo you love these 2 sites. She actually looks pretty good. I am saying that because I have seen the mess of fighting at my Edmonton site. She should make full recovery. they will just have to give her med for infection. At least that is what they did at my site, with Miss Edmonton
when they are in box like that , they are trapped. Please keep us informed
she is still a beauty :girlyes:

So sorry to see this news. I thought something might be wrong when I kept seeing the eggs uncovered and then, of course, I saw the juvie in the box. Not gonna be easy to warm up to her I don't guess. I am curious who she is. What a shame this happened.

As far as is known, Sleggie will be banded as soon as possible, after which she will be released on Friday or Saturday, far from her previous nest box, if possible.

This shows that the injuries were fortunately not so serious.

Thanks for that update, Ruud..and that is certainly very good news...but, don't you think she will just return to her box? No matter how far away she is?

We are indeed a bit worried for a decisive confrontation.
But, that we facilitated, by saving her.
Hopefully, she is now sufficiently stronger.

she will probably return but if confronted may, just go elsewhere, although she has eggs and may be more bonded.

it is hard for falcons when egg laying and just after eggs to defend. they are not up to the same form as another female. their body has to recover.

so she will get the rest she needs and be stronger . tough world. and we complain
thanks Rudd
Let us hope for a good outcome for your female

I just hate it that she runs him off...Or that he thinks she's gonna take over incubation...same thing happened at San Francisco..Dan always thought the new female was gonna take over..

Sleggie is released this morning, 10:15 AM local time, 60 miles from her old nest box.
So far we have no further news about her.

This afternoon we spent a few hours at the water tower, and have been able to see that Youngster and his new girlfriend, Sidonia, very well get along.

Well I am watching for a bit I sure hope all is well here I have only seen Sidonia so far she looked at the egg and went back out thenn looked at something real hard in the distance and took off and now shes back looking around
I hate when they look at something and I can't see what it is.
