Article about a nest in Bangor Maine.
Mom eagle fell ill and Dad electrocuted. Both eaglets rescued and are now at a rehab facility Avian Haven.

gigi is this our nest that we watch? I know I posted about the female but could not figure out why Bangor sounded so familiar.
Forget the question I just found the nest we watch and this one are miles apart.

I have totally forgot to look in here and I guess its a good thing, just found this in my emails.
I'm afraid to go look tomorrow.

Crisis at the Maine Nest! – Larger eaglet savagely attacks smaller one!
June 20, 2014 — bald eagle, Eagle, eaglecam, Maine, nature

From the info that I’ve seen, it appears that the larger eaglet has attacked and killed or severely wounded the smaller eaglet. (update: just after I posted this, the smaller eaglet was seen getting up!) Watchers note that the smaller one may have also injured the eye of the larger one during the fight. I did not see it happen, but those that did see the fight, say it was the most horrific and gruesome thing they have witnessed on a nestcam. In the past week, food deliveries have diminished, with virtually no food delivered in the last day, and no food for the smaller one for the last 3 days. This nest has had too much tragedy in the last few years, and this is so hard to see happen. link to cam (provided with caution): http://www.ustream.tv/channel/brieaglcam

Same here, KF...I'm not gonna go look...there is always something at this nest...whether starvation or falling out or neglect...I choose not to watch it anymore...

and why would the larger so viciously attack the smaller? Are they starving again? I can't watch..

I haven't been over to WOW forum in a long time but what I read on FB I guess the food is the issue again.

Eagleholic has posted I won't go into details, but the eaglet has died. :sorrow:
RIP little one you tried with everything you had, it just wasn't meant to be.
