both have been here. on e just flew off from up top, I think female, kaking. alarm kaking and in flight but I hear one somewhere now

so hopefully all is O>K> I hear it moving so must be by cam.

I try an d keep this cam up but if I am not here, it stops . so I may miss visits

female is very alert




she flies to left somewhere.( there seems to be a perch)


it was not long after she flew up there and that she tore off , kaking. I have seen male at box since. will feel better when I see her. ( I will be out in hour fo r rest of day so hopefully will see her before then)

there will be a lot of birds migrating now so hopefully all will be well( ours included)

there is a lot of noise here. clanging etc. ????

3:22pm MT female in box. Yes, she looks fine. scraping etc and looks well fed. there is some kind of perch to left side( out of sight)

will post when I come home thi s evening

A banded falcon is standing quietly in the nestbox at Mayo Clinic

RECENT UPDATE:

March 21, 2018

Jackie Fallon from the Midwest Peregrine Society confirmed that both Hattie and Orton, last year's nesting pair, are in residence. The other female has not been seen recently, but still may be in the area. Please note the well-defined nest depression (scrape) in the box. The falcons are making preparations for laying eggs, which could happen by the end of the month. In 2017, Hattie laid her first egg on March 31.

male an d female have both been in incubating.

edit to add. male brought tin food for female. he had come earlier and female was not in. so he left with it. she came back and I heard him calling and flying. (do not know what that was about)

they have been in an d out like yesterday and saw a food exchange.

cannot see but here the gravel. think an egg by morning

will get picture of second egg. I knew she would lay it when it was too dark to see
