Mayo Clinic news
The male and female falcons seen in downtown Rochester were new to our territory last year.

The male fledged in 2014 from City Hall in Minneapolis, Minn. He is banded and named "Orton."
The female is unnamed. She fledged in 2015 from the Mayo Building on the campus of the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
We're hoping this young couple enjoys "building their nest" in Rochester!

Ortons parents are Bor & Dot
Dot was out at Great River in 2011

WOW Multifood is up already, it is 12:27 AM and there is a falcon ( think thats what it is ) at the nest

Well, that's nice- Last year I couldn't get Multifood- this year I can. The cam site says the female's name is "Hattie"...named after the wife of the guy who formed the Mayo Clinic.

well I have not been able to spot anyone yet. maybe tomorrow I will put cam on recorder. I think it stops though

UPDATE:
The female is banded (b/r D/35) and has been named "Hattie" in honor of the Mayo Clinic Peregrine Falcon Program's 30th anniversary. "Hattie" was the name of the wife of Dr. William J. Mayo, one of the founders of Mayo Clinic. The name means "keeper of the hearth, ruler of her household."
