:taz: Ferenz, I am putting an alert on Bob#2. On DVR this morning, I have seen 3 feeds and he keeps ending up on his back with his beak open, wanting to eat. The 3rd feed I watched, she placed a piece in his beak while on his back. The 1st one I saw he almost appeared stuck. Don't know whats going on with that nest bowl down there, you just can't see. He always seems to be just to the left of the 3rd egg and sometimes you just barely see his head compared to the other chick standing erect. I am going to their forum now, to see what they are saying. I need to to leave here soon. Hope you will be around and see this.

EDIT TO ADD: Ferenz, basically they are seeing what I am. They mentioned last PM, he had some difficulty holding his head up. But, he was just hatched yesterday morning. Hope you or someone can follow this little fellow!

skyllabub posted a video showing a week bob 2 having difficulties to stand up in that deep bowl:

Bobbles end up with a KO
> https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_cont ... XUOcZnZs9g

But scrolling back ~ 1h 20min on the current Live Stream you can see that both bobs got fed well
& postings on today's RSPB-Blog page 18 have noticed the same:

A lovely feeding session for both chicks finished a short time ago, #2 fell into a food coma before the end of it.

Dyfi, Wales - Merin and Tegid Return - Posted: Friday 25th May 2018 by Emyr MWT

Quote:
What could be better than news of a Dyfi chick returning as an adult? A. Two birds returning of course. And so it was last week. Welsh osprey ringer Tony Cross messaged me early Wednesday morning to say that a Blue W1 (Merin - a male chick from the 2015 brood) was nesting in Denmark.

DENMARK???!!!

Quote:
Merin is not the first British osprey to favour a more continental lifestyle. A Cumbrian osprey has been doing the northern European rounds, including Denmark, for a while. A Rutland male, another three-year-old like Merin, is currently in the Netherlands - his second year there.
No 14 from the Lake District Osprey Project.

Quote:
Jutland and Philopatry

Merin's nest in north-west Jutland, Denmark, is around 560 miles (900 km) away from his natal Welsh nest.

Of all the Welsh offspring that have returned to date that have either bred, or made serious attempts to,
none of them are nearer than 100 miles (160km) from their natal nest.

Returning Welsh offspring that are/have breeding

Four of Glesni's offspring have already returned as adults
