exact time for egg at NEF was 6:34pm but in big scheme of things just after 6pm is o.k. :holwink: I had posted it just after 6pm when I posted.

E14 update: no hook; it was a broken blood pin feather on the left wing. Unhatched egg was also retrieved. It was fertilized and partially developed; can't determine problem that stopped development.

Sad News

It's always hard to lose a bird, especially one you've spent so much time watching over it. Our sympathies to all the Rockford Peregrine fans.

We just heard that Sweeney (45/D) was found dead on Jan 11th in Brownsville Texas.

Raptor mortality is high with on average 60% not making it through their first year. At least we know that Sweeney had some good months in the wild and it's interesting to see where he went.

awe so sad. I always wonders about our juveniles after they leave. some you hear or see of again and I always pray they are nesting somewhere safe . you did well Sweeney.
