At Dale Hollow, I read on chat that DH7 (middle chick) was knocked out of nest by a barred owl! They have had some luck here in seasons past of them making it back to the nest. Hope it works out for this one!! Stay safe!! |

No news on DH7 so far. Some on chat think they can hear him sometimes, but they are unsure. |

I always trust them. I remember the spirit bluff falcons when they went off due to bugs and we could hear them below and eventually when they were ready , they made it up to bluff( on e was rescued on ground and re nested) so remember big bear, when he fell out. he eventually made it flying. do not remember if he was older, or not so all is possible, even if it is dense. if parents hear him, he will be fed. he was least 10 weeksold so within fledging area( 10-12 weeks) the eagle, at eagle country was same age(72 days ) when it accidentally fledged and look at it. so talons crossed |

Apparently DH8 was knocked out of the nest or off a limb by an owl on the 23rd, but made it back on the 24th. Then DH7 fell or was knocked off this morning, but has been seen flying since. And DH6 has not been anywhere, but the nest or a branch yet. So DH6 and DH8 are here tonight, although sometimes you can not see 1 of them, because they are traveling out of cam view on the left limb. |

Chat at Dale Hollow is reporting that all 3 eaglets have fledged, but I did not get here soon enough this morning to capture the details! |

Just saw 1 of the eaglets fly in and there was 1 in the nest. It's like ... Well hello there!! So far, I have not seen all 3 of them at the same time. |

Dollywood update: "Awohali, moved to AEF hack tower overlooking Douglas Lake On Sunday, June 2 Awohali was transferred to a new nest where the eaglet will begin the next step in the captive breeding and hacking process. Typically The American Eagle Foundation will move eaglets between the age of 6-8 weeks. Once an eaglet learns to climb atop the nest and begins to perch, AEF knows it's time to move the eaglet to the hack nest. " Awohali has joined several other eaglets, where they will enjoy their new spacious nests, and continue to develop and grow. The eaglets will be strong enough to take their first flight at 13 weeks. The hack tower allows the eaglets to be in an area with sounds and sights of nature, and will not associate food with humans. At the hack tower, the eaglets are secretly monitored by AEF staff. Fresh food and water is supplied via a drawers that slide into their new living compartments. Grant and Glenda are adjusting well without their eaglet. The two parents did an amazing job raising Awohali into the eaglet we have all grown to love." all info and photos from AEF 2019, provided by HD OnTap |
