I didn't think ET's wing flapping that made Montana leave was a big deal. Montana was on the very edge of the nest & frankly crowding ET. There must have been food there (or at least Montana thought there was).

The Ms are in the nest. I'm noticing that the lower part of their feet is discolored like the adults, which means they're at least trying to fish. :ohyes:

ET has not been welcomed on the nest in the past 2-3 days at least... I wonder why the big change of heart?

I have seen posts here where people have wondered if the "other" juvie is actually ET, & I'm seeing the same thing posted on FB, so that would make sense. If Audrey is getting ready to leave, she may not want to leave Tom with extra mouths to feed.

Interesting thought, cat - I saw a couple of the "Audrey rejects" and it looked (and acted) like ET - but who knows???
Meanwhile, yesterday ET got a fish from Tom AND Audrey yesterday... very confusing!!!

4:50pm Maine has been on the nest food calling for quite some time, acting as if someone was flying nearby with food... Montana arrives with a fish! And Maine steals it!!!

4:54pm Maine is still enjoying the fish - and Montana is food calling!

I copied your comment(question re sex of chicks from blood work and why Audrey rejected ET during first visit, accepted him for weeks, and began to reject him recently), and forwarded it to Craig, so I will let everyone know when I have an answer. He was here last week taking photos for his osprey book, and told me he never saw as osprey catch as many fish as Tom. He saw Tom catch 5 fish in 90 minutes. As of last Friday, he had not seen any of the juveniles catch their own fish. We haven’t been around much lately, but I have been keeping my eyes open for a confirmed juvie catch. I will try to get a blog out this weekend...."

Maine was just there eating (there were 2 fish in the nest). Now he's gone & a visitor showed up!

That visitor saw somebody coming & took off, & then there was another visitor. This one stole the fish!
