KIDS ARE HUNGRY, LIL DAD GOES IN THE SCRAPE TO CHECK ON THEM, NIECEY WAS WHINING THE WHOLE TIME (ON VIDEO). LIL DAD THEN FLEW OFF AND BROUGHT FOOD BACK AND NIECEY TOOK OFF WITH IT (NOT ON VIDEO). FEEDING AT 6:52 AM.

All tucked in under that wonderful Brood Patch on Niecey's chest. Boy! I bet that is soft! She was preening it.

Niecey has popped into the scrape a couple times since I've been watching, but she did not have food. Chicks huddled in a pile right now. Will be gone for a good bit of the day shortly.

One of the babies has a leg stuck in its mouth with the foot sticking out. It seemed to be struggling to get it out. The parent (don't know if its mom or dad) just settled on top of the babies. At first I thought it would help the baby get the leg loose.

I hope the baby with the leg stuck in its mouth doesn't choke.

Couldn't post this right after it happened, as I was busy preparing dinner. Around 6:00, Lil Dad came into the scrape, finding a few scraps to feed the chicks. Niecey came in shortly afterwards with something much more substantial. Chicks didn't seem all that interested. And as I started typing this, there has been another food delivery at 6:55. Niecey is feeding them, but don't think they're very hungry at the moment.

Tuned into the cam around 7:45 this morning to find Niecey shielding the chicks from the sun. Shortly afterwards there was a food delivery. Chicks didn't seem very hungry, so maybe there was an earlier feeding. Chicks have gotten themselves back into the corner, and Lil Dad has been in the scrape for a while. Niecey just returned, and I think Lil Dad went up on the shield. Am seeing feathers from a Red-bellied Woodpecker in the scrape, but I think they are from yesterday.

LIL DAD CAME IN THE SCRAPE EARLIER WHEN NIECEY LEFT AFTER THE FEEDING. HE LOOKED REALLY HARD TO FIND A SCRAP HE COULD FEED THE CHICKS. HE ALSO WATCHED A FLY ON THE UNHATED EGG AND ON SOME OF THE FEATHERS. NIECEY CAME IN CHASED HIM OFF AND THEN SHE WAS STANDING AT THE FRONT OF THE SCRAPE FANNING HER TAIL AND SOUNDING LIKE A DUCK, LOL! SHE TURNED AROUND NOW FACING THE CHICKS WATCHING OVER THEM AS THEY NAP OFF THEIR MEAL. I HEAR LIL DAD IN THE BACKGROUND TALKING TO HER NOW AND THEN.

They are growing so fast! They are already at the sprawling in the shady corner to nap. Next thing we know, they will be exploring the edge of the scrape and hopping out to the ledge!

Tuned in around 230 and it looks like all three swallowed a balloon by the size of their crops. Not the best of captures but....

Around 3:45, Niecey came in with some food that looked like a partially eaten Jay. She then fed the chicks. One of them had either a leg or feather stuck in its beak, and Niecey finally saw that and took it out one her second attempt. On the first attempt the chick didn't want her taking it. What a good mother Niecey is!

Oh my goodness - she is the best mom ever! She is so thoughtful and purposeful with her babies and so is dad. I love watching this site.

Tuned in at 7:50 to view two together dozing and the other looked ready to amble about the scrape on his/her knees. For a moment, I thought we were going to fully stand up. But, we fell back onto our knees. "Weebles Wabble and the do fall down"! For now at least.

edited Judging the white on one of our trio, I would say too that we were hit by a poop shot
