Chick struggling with that foot, while the other two watch. One chick tried to pull it out, but it wouldn't come out. :egg14:

Also, there was a lot of tugging over food with this feed.

I've been out for a while, and appreciate the updates and pictures. As for the Jays, they are migrating through here right now. The ones we see in the winter are not the same as the ones that are here in the summer. I suppose a Jay is a fairly easy target for Lil Dad.

I mised the beginning of that feeding, but all seem well fed. At least two Blue Jays have avoided Lil Dad, as they're outside my window. :-)

I LOVE HEARING LIL DAD SCREAMING AS HE COMES IN WITH FOOD, SO CUTE. THEN NIECEY JUMPS DOWN OFF THE SHIELD AND TAKES THE FOOD FROM HIM. POOR LIL DAD SURE HAS BEEN REALLY BUSY KEEPING UP WITH FOOD FOR THESE CHICKS! IT'S AMAZING THE SIZE OF FOOD THEY ARE ABLE TO SWALLOW NOW TOO!

I thought there was going to be a great escape for a moment, but it didn't happen. Seems like it's a bit soon for that.

They are looking pretty hot right now. Poor babies.

That big one in the back was facing the other direction and I thought maybe she might head out but didn't.

The chick is in the corner not interested in eating. I think somebody should check him out.

Maybe that's the chick that had the leg stuck in his throat yesterday, and it's punctured something, ok that's the worse case, but it's possible.

Went back and watched that. It did not look good! And if it is not eating now, that doesn"t look good either.

The one in the corner worked its way to the front and is getting some attention now. One of the ones who was originally in the front seemed to have enough and turned away and went toward the middle of the scrape.

Well the best I could do is send an e-mail asking somebody to look at the footage and determine if chick needs help.

Hoping it just had something stuck and got it up, but I've never seen a chick spitting up blood before, and it went on for a long time.
