I think it might be a poop spot from when it was laid. They recently had a picture of the poop egg on their facebook page, but we knew from the beginning it was going to be a trickster! I do have to say, with the headphones, I think I might be hearing the chicks. So maybe there is a pip.

I will be out this morning, but one thing I was thinking about, there was very cold/snow weather when the first egg was laid. It was pretty well covered right from the start. Wonder if that "activated" the egg and may be we will see an earlier than expected hatch?

ETA: now that B is off the eggs - absolutely hearing something.

I have to leave in 10 minutes but will be back in a few hours.

I have to run out for errands too, lovely day here finally! I expect the eggs will hatch while I'm at work without access to streaming but I'm hoping she saves them for early morning or evening when I'm home :egg13:

Can't wait to meet our little Rochester crew for this year. :hapdance:

I think I hear peeps too..can't wait! :dancingegg:

That's what I get for not keeping up-to-date! Thanks, mw! Well, maybe it will hatch eventually.

Large closeup of photo from Main, 5/4/15 at 5:35pm

I think this might be a pip. Also, I thought there was only 1 poop egg this year, but 2 eggs have white spots, so not sure what's going on, but obviously something!

I saw that earlier today too mw! Well we know that a pip is just a small air hole they make - it's not always the big holes we see and that makes sense because sometimes we see a small hole then wham the chick is out. The chipping all the way around doesn't always show on the outside but they could be working hard inside and only mom and dad would know. Either way she wants to be with her eggs or maybe she doesn't trust DC to give her back the eggs :egg13: He wouldn't get off the eggs this morning when she came back either so turnabout is fair play :teehee:

I saw him on the eggs earlier today. I know it's warm, but he was holding himself up a little and looking down. I didn't see Orion hatch under him, but I bet he was hoping it would happen again on his watch. It's so fun to watch them. I shouldn't anthropomorphize, but it's almost like anticipation!

A perfect example of that was Ft. Wayne this year. In the evening, we were just trying to see if a third had hatched & there was nothing remarkable about the 4th egg. The next morning I caught 3 heads during a feed. Once the feed was over & Moxie moved, I saw there were actually 4 there--all dry & white!

Not much longer now...

5/5/15 - 12:28pm - DC just took over for Beauty & gave us a great view. He had to commando his way in. She really didn't want to leave!

Totally can hear the babies!

DC is scooching around and looking down.

I think he really wants baby to hatch while he's on duty. It is his turn!

Poor DC, just can't get comfy on eggs. Sitting very high, moving around, trying to be gentle.
