Just an update regarding V/5 at Lawrence (ayers clock tower)...Apparently she grounded again...serious injuries that she couldn't recover from..and they had to Euthanize her. :tissue: ..so, the unbanded falcon we are seeing here...well, actually, I haven't caught anybody here in forever, is female..

first time she grounded, was picked up by animal control. Found to have no injuries, was kept overnight by a falconer, then released the next day.

I don't know what grounded her the second time, but this was what I found on the Lawrence Blog:

    The long standing female was injured and was placed under the care of the staff at Tufts Wildlife Clinic. The male falcon has attracted a new female friend.

Then I got the following info:

    "she had a shoulder fracture and an abrasion on a toe that developed a staff infection. Despite pain meds and antibiotics, she just didn't improve. Maybe because she was 14 and just couldn't recover.."

I don't know what caused this..or maybe she was really injured the first go round and no body figured it out..but, apparently Tufts had her for about 6 weeks...
