feeding was a "quickey" Niecey has left and the kids are all sitting in the corner. did they misbehave in front of Niecey?

Well I thought that I had gotten a shot of the chick and the foot, but didn't. Anyway, this is afterwards, look at the little chick in the corner, his little wings are drooping. Must be hot there, it is here for sure.

LAST MEAL WHITE FOOT DIDN'T GET MUCH, THE YELLOW FEET GOT MOST, SO IT ONLY MAKES SENSE THAT WHITE FOOT GOT MOST OF THIS MEAL. ALSO, I THOUGHT MAYBE LIL DAD BROUGHT THE FOOD OVER BECAUSE THERE WAS A CHICK OUT THE SIDE DOOR. NIECEY DID JUMP DOWN OFF THE SHIELD TO GET THE HALF EATEN BLUE JAY FROM LIL DAD AND THAT GOT THE CHICK BACK IN THE SIDE DOOR TOO. I TOO HAVE TO LEAVE FOR A WHILE NOW.

Chicks all sacked out right now. I think the chick of concern was fooling with that Jay wing a bit ago. I'd be willing to guess that one is a male, and white foot a female. Just checked The Weather Channel at 12:45. It says it's 79 degrees right now. Feels hotter than that. There is a nice breeze blowing from the southwest, which would mean it's blowing right at the front of the scrape's shield.

Another short feeding by Niecey. Started around 1:40. White foot wasn't interested for a while, and the two yellow feet both ate eagerly. One of the yellow feet ate a leg again. :-(

Just came in from yard work and tuned in. No 30 seconds later Niecey arrived with some small prey. White foot was in the center, and got most, but not all of it. One yellow foot scarfed down a HUGE piece of meat. The other yellow foot was having a tug of war with white foot over some meat. White foot got it. This feeding started around 4:05 this afternoon. As of 4:15 this afternoon it's 85 degrees. Chicks will be more comfortable when they get feathers and not have all that downy white fluff.

Great. While I was typing the previous message, one chick left the scrape somewhere. Don't know where it got to. It's a yellow foot that's out on the ledge somewhere. Wish I knew how to rewind this video, but I don't. It had to be between 4:10 and 4:15 when the chick ventured out. And NOW I see the chick outside the scrape at what I guess we'd call the side entrance. And around 4:35, the chick returned to the scrape. Not very graceful, but it's back in.

NIECEY CAME IN ABOUT 5:45 PM TO FEED THE KIDS, IT WAS THE BLOODIEST MEAL I'VE SEEN FOR A WHILE. CHICKS WERE RAVENOUS, I SWORE SOMEONE HIT THE FAST FORWARD BUTTON FOR A WHILE WHEN NIECEY WAS GOING SO FAST TO FEED THEM. WHEN IT WAS ALMOST ALL GONE, DEAR LIL DAD COMES IN WITH A BLUE JAY. HE ALMOST GOT TO FEED WHEN NIECEY TURNED AROUND, GAVE HIM THAT LOOK AND TOOK THE JAY FROM HIM TO FEED THE KIDS SOME MORE. THEN WHEN NIECEY LEFT, LIL DAD CAME IN THE SCRAPE AND WAS FINDING ALL THE SCRAPS AND FEEDING THE KIDS. HE IS SO CUTE HOW HE CHECKS THE ENTIRE SCRAPE LIKE HE DOES. THE KIDS WERE ABSOLUTELY ALL STUFFED TO THE GILLS! LIL DAD LEFT QUICKLY WHEN DONE. I DON'T THINK NIECEY WAS AROUND THERE AT THE TIME. VIDEOS COMING. THERE WERE SOME FUNNY PARTS TO THE FEEDING TOO.......

Well, it figures that when I went for groceries there would be a BIG feeding. I've not seen Lil Dad while watching all day, but haven't been watching constantly, either. Glad to see him on the videos. White foot was just fooling with what looked like the Jay's beak. Thought it was going to eat it, but finally put it down.

Lil Dad made a brief appearance in the scrape a few minutes ago. He did not have food, but the chicks should still be quite full from this morning's breakfast. White foot is fooling with a discarded leg at the moment.

White foot went out the side door of the scrape about a minute ago. Was out there about 30 seconds and came back into the scrape.

That wasn't a very long feeding. I missed the beginning of it too. Chicks were lunging at Niecey. She's now outside the scrape sunbathing. VERY humid here today.

NIECEY IS STANDNG AT THE FRONT OF THE SCRAPE, KIDS KEEP SCREAMING IN HER FACE. SHE KEEPS MAKING THIS LOW DUCK NOISE AND THEN THEY BE QUIET, SO FUNNY............
