It's not raining one drop here. When it gets pretty dark the camera images get distorted and wiggly. Niecey hopped up on the shield a bit ago. I suspect that's where she's been spending the night for a while but we couldn't see that before.

NIECEY BROUGHT IN MEDIUM SIZED BIRD. ONE OF THE YELLOW FEET TOOK IT, THE OTHER YELLOW FOOT SITS SCREAMING IN THE SCRAPE AND NIECEY IS SCREAMING ON THE SHIELD! LOL! WONDERING WHAT THE BIRD IS, IT HAS A VERY YELLOW BEAK. HOPEFULLY JANE CAN ID IT.

Both parents & the food just got there. Niecey took the food into the scrape & the other 2 were closer to it than the one outside. :eggroll:

One kid grabbed the food & is sitting in the corner wondering what to do with it. Niecey hopped up on the shield. Poor little hungry one still doesn't have anything to eat.

Actually, the one with the food is plucking feathers (sorta).

Wonder if Niecey was trying to teach them a lesson about grabbing food from her. She's left the ledge now. Looks like the hungry one is plucking feathers now.

I THINK THEY ARE TRYING TO TEACH THEM TO EAT ON THEIR OWN. THEY ALWAYS DO THIS FOR A LITTLE WHILE. ONCE THEY SEE THEY CAN'T GET TOO FAR, THEY WILL COME AND FEED THEM. I NOTICED THEM STARTING THIS ON SATURDAY.

TWO YELLOW LEGS ARE SHARING NOW WHILE BIG GIRL LAYS DOWN AND CRIES, LOL!

2 of them have something to work on--the 2 in the back. The one on the right has the main part of the bird, but the one on the left must have grabbed a chunk for itself. Seems to be getting some bites from it.

LOOKS LIKE BIG GIRL IS WORKING ON THE PREY, ONE OF THE OTHER CHICKS WAS PANCAKED OUTSIDE THE SIDE DOOR AND THE OTHER ONE WALKED ON IT TO GET OUT THERE TWO. ONE SINCE CAME BACK IN. I BET IT REALLY SUCKS FOR THEM TO REALIZE HOW MUCH WORK IT TAKES TO EAT THEIR PREY ON THEIR OWN....

LIL DAD JUST CAME IN AND GOT THE BIRD THEY WERE ALL WORKING ON AND IS FEEDING THEM :-)

THE ONE, PROBABLY THE BOY, IS STILL PANCAKED BEHIND THE STICK.

TOO CUTE! THESE ARE THE TWO LIL DAD FED. I THINK THE GIRLS :-)

Am WAY late getting tuned in here this morning. Am hoping the third chick is flattened out next to the stick. How big was the prey? Birds with yellow beaks - Starlings and Robins off the top of my head. And Yellow-billed Cuckoo. Actually thought there were some cuckoo feathers in the scrape yesterday.

YES, I DO THINK IT WAS THE YELLOW BILLED CUCKOO! AND I THOUGHT I SAW FEATHERS YESTERDAY TOO. I ALWAYS FORGET THE NAME OF THAT BIRD FOR SOME REASON. AND YES, THE 3RD CHICK, I BELIEVE THE BOY IS PANCAKED BY THE STICK. JUST DID A WING STRETCH A BIT AGO.
