OK so here is an article about mom @ Lawrence so if anyone can get a picture that would be cool. Just so we know she is doing good.

LAWRENCE — An injured Peregrine falcon was set free this week after being taken care of by Lawrence police.
On Tuesday, a Coolidge Street woman called police saying she'd found a falcon that appeared to be hurt.
Animal Control Officer Ellen Bistany Mastorakis tapped Det. David Augusta, a licensed falconer, for his help.
The falcon appeared to have a scrape on one of its digits, so Mastorakis and Augusta together stretched a nylon over the bird.
The nylon created a straight-jacket of sorts on the falcon, so Augusta could get a good a good look at her talons.
"Which are like knives. So is the beak," Mastorakis said.
The two took the falcon back to the pound. They found a band on one of it's legs with a number.
A call to the state revealed this falcon was banded while nesting in the city's Ayer Mill Clock Tower in 2003.
"They figured she was two years old at the time. So that makes her 14," Mastorakis said.

The falcon's wings were fine. So Wednesday afternoon, Augusta expertly set the falcon free again.
Based on her history, however, it doesn't sound like she'll go far.
2 great pictures here:

Beloved peregrine falcon on mend after rescue from snowbank
W.E.B. DuBois Library.
AMHERST — A male peregrine falcon that has been the star of a popular webcam feed at the University of Massachusetts is recovering from injuries it suffered Thursday. Those who watch the falcon believe he may have crashed into something.

The male falcon, who along with his female companion has nested on the top of the 26-story building each spring since 2002, was discovered by a passerby in a snowbank on Sunset Avenue Thursday

Peregrine falcon that made UMass home for 12 seasons has died :sorrow:

AMHERST - The male peregrine falcon found injured on a snow bank on Sunset Avenue last week has died, according to University of Massachusetts officials.

The falcon had nested with the same mate for 12 seasons on top of the 27-story W.E.B. Du Bois Library and helped his mate raise 34 chicks during that time, officials said.

The falcon was 14.

Born in 2001 in New Hampshire, the falcon and mate nested at the library each year beginning in 2003. Since 2012, thousands watched online as they hatched and raised their chicks each spring.

The bird died while awaiting transport to a wildlife rehabilitation center.

Tom French, a state biologist who directs the MassWildlife Natural Heritage & Endangered Species Program, said the bird had a rich, full life. "Fourteen is particularly old for wild peregrines," he said. "Ten is the typical old age for our birds."

After being found, the falcon was taken to Dr. Michel Katz of Hampshire Veterinary Hospital, who took X-rays and determined that it had no broken bones, although there were abrasions to its sternum and to one of its wings.

Wildlife officials suspect that the falcon flew into a power line, perhaps while landing near a transformer, got his left wing tip tangled, and suffered an electrical shock that extended to his left leg, causing the bird to fall to the ground.

French said he expects that a new falcon will move into the nesting box this spring, probably with the same female. "They mate for life, but they don't mourn for a minute," he said. "I expect that you have a replacement at the library already."

The breeding season usually begins in March.

From the other article I thought the outcome sounded very promising.
I think this caught everyone off guard.

I agree, KF...totally unexpected...I guess we just didn't know the entire story...but, what makes me angry is if he was picked up on the 15th and died this morning while waiting for transport...why did they wait so long if they suspected electrocution...why was he sitting in a cat carrier, in an office..(if, that part of the other article was true)...why wasn't he at a vet getting treatment...at least medication? Its hard to know how much of these articles are factual...

Poor guy...just so sad...
