I am absolutely devastated to hear this sad news about our sweet little Ethel:

There is some sad news about Ethel, one of this season's peregrine falcon chicks. She was found unresponsive on the roof yesterday and unfortunately, passed away.
Brad Loveless, executive director of Environmental Services, said "We had been keeping an eye on her as recently as last Friday. While she wasn’t flying as strongly as her brother, she was easily flying from end to end of the rooftop and her parents were very attentive. We don’t have any insight into the cause of her death, but it was clear that she wasn’t progressing as quickly as our chicks typically do. Fred appears to be doing fine and can be seen around the downtown with his parents."

With tears streaming down my face, I have finally found the strength to post the last 4 video's that I got of our dear little Ethel. Here, I'm posting the VERY LAST ONE that I captured. R.I.P., Ethel. You brought us alot of joy. And although Nature can be cruel, we all know that you're now in a much better place.

Munchie...I am so, so sorry about Ethel. I know how terribly hard it is to lose one you follow so closely. I wish we knew exactly what happened... :sorrow:

I heard from my "go to guru" this morning, and here's part of his message:

I heard from my "go to guru". He thinks the reason that Ethel looks BLUE in that pic is due to something being "funky with their camera". He also said that he saw her over the next several days on the rooftop and her coloration wasn't noticeably different than Fred's. Plus they're gonna be reviewing their camera and sound management now that the Season's over with & see how they can improve it for next year.

Opened the cam to hear Fred screaming from somewhere...LOL...sounded like he was on the ledge . He's still there..
