He hopped out to the far perch, but when he decided he wanted to return to the nest box, he couldn't keep his balance to turn. He tried several times, almost losing his balance each time. After a minute or two, he flew away.... PS - River is a GIRL Here is video of River's visit. It's fairly long so you may want to fast forward to when she's in the box.It's about four minutes into the video. |

Thanks for the video, Carolyn! She obviously does have a sore foot. Hopefully its just a strain & will heal itself. I was concerned about whether her parents are still catching food for her, but I see she has food in her crop, so she is OK on that front.

Looks like there is a lightening storm going on. No thunder but that sky sure is lighting up, rain is coming down hard. Parent just showed up 8:52pm nest time |

 Cam seems to be back on. No one is home but traffic and sparrow chipping looks normal.

The cam is not working properly. When I open it I get a night scene for a few seconds then it goes to live streaming where it stops and does not stream, also there is no sound at this point either.

The birdcam has been taken offline as the birds are no longer visiting the nestbox. See you all next season. TRIBUTE: Bob Anderson was instrumental in helping Great River Energy get our Peregrine Falcon birdcam up and running. He was an amazing teacher and his love for his birds was inspirational. RIP Bob, you will be missed. |

Thanks queenofslack for the update!! It was a great season... and yes, Bob will certainly be missed. What a great loss for the peregrine falcon world...we have several tributes/links regarding the legacy he has left scattered throughout this forum... |

I just read sad news at the data base Sky D/49 Died in collision with vehicle. Reported by Brenda Geisler. Currently in my freezer, hoping to find someone who needs a mount. Will send to Field Museum otherwise. RIP
