Great, thanks ljames!!!! Wow, she's practically a local bird!! The Bayonne bridge connects Hudson County, NJ (which JC is a part of) with Staten Island, NY.

Here's a satellite pic of Hudson County and adjacent areas, downtown JC is the blue circle, Bayonne Bridge is in white.

Congrats to the followers here!! :smilehat:

The mother at the bridge she came from has an interesting band. If band num/letter is correct in the MPD, she would be 20 yrs old!
lol I wonder what is going on with that..

Found this pic on Flickr (credit Patricia Hilliard) of the tower next to the Bayonne bridge where the actual nest is:

Thanks Mike for that photo, not as bad as a bridge I think though still surrounded by water but at least no traffic. Well, I am so glad that Juliette fledged and survived to make it to this nest so close to home, although it's definitely sad to lose our previous pair.

So we're going with Romeo, huh?

And if anyone in those houses in the background was into birds and had a scope, they'd probably have a pretty good view of the activity!

I'm good with Romeo. But I'm open to other suggestions

Hey, they didn't mention Romeo in the report?
Well I haven't caught anybody on camera in a couple of days but I see SGB did. They had better hustle if they want chicks.

Juliette spent a good 40 minutes in the box late this morning (most time I've seen to date). Here's a few mug shots:

I'm beginning to think Romeo's takeover happened right around the time the cam went online (or even after, since it was a week+ before we saw anything on cam), seeing as how they're still pair-bonding. I know in 2003 a freak snowstorm on April 7 destroyed a full clutch at this site. They had a new full clutch by the end of the month, so it's technically not too late yet. :imbored:
