Someone is preening in the shadows on the left ledge...

Have we gotten any more info on who our mystery girl is? It sure would be nice to know if 41/AX has a name and where she came from...

Just spoke with Chris Nadareski on the phone. He said that this bird b/g 41/AX was banded on the Byonne Bridge on 5/25/2012 along with a male chick in the nest. Her fish and wildlife band number is 194703237. He was unsure about her name as the port authority usually handles that part of it but that he may have it written in his field notes and will get back to us if he finds out. Very nice person. I am sending him a link to the cam as he seemed very interested in her progress and also a link to our forum.

Great, thanks ljames!!!! Wow, she's practically a local bird!! The Bayonne bridge connects Hudson County, NJ (which JC is a part of) with Staten Island, NY.

Here's a satellite pic of Hudson County and adjacent areas, downtown JC is the blue circle, Bayonne Bridge is in white.

The mother at the bridge she came from has an interesting band. If band num/letter is correct in the MPD, she would be 20 yrs old!
