I guess many of you know the UB cam is down again. Below is a "rough" copy of some back and forth posts on facebook between me and the person who is in charge of the Peregrine Place Facebook page. I am embarrassed to say I don't know his or her name!!!! But it looks like we need to reach out to UB to keep this cam going. I will work on a letter tomorrow with a phone call or two. Keep your fingers crossed!!!!!
From Facebook:
UB cam is still down! I am missing it so much.
Sally Guerin Thank you for this information. I will start with the letter and go from there!

~Peregrine Place~ I think that's the only way to get some more visibility on it. They are sick of hearing from me.

Sally Guerin Okay I will get busy on a letter to UB. Also, I know a couple of people in the development department so I think I will reach out to them too. Maybe they could do some sort of fund raising event which would benefit us and university!!!! I will let you know what I find out. Take care, Sally

~Peregrine Place~ Sally, that would be wonderful. I connected with someone who's Dad works in MacKay where the nestbox is and he's posing some questions to them. It used to be be run by the Engineering Dept in MacKay until the University moved it under the current Dept.

~Peregrine Place~ Sally it's run by UP's Dept of Sustainability. The person designated to support it is a part-time employee. There are two things the community can do to ensure better coverage:
1. Write a letter to the Dept. and University President outlining the importance of the cams to the WNY community and Peregrine Conservationists, and beyond - as its seen all over the world.
2. Have this community raise funds to support cam upgrades or add another cam and sound to the site.
Having the community pitch in would go along way to focus the University's attention on maintaining the cams on a more responsible basis.
