I second that, Antilogical!! All Hail, Dorothy!! Its always so tough to lose a favorite and long time resident, especially when they've stolen your heart...and I know Dorothy stole many...

Like I said (under Breaking news) earlier, I choose to believe she has chosen Retirement...like Freedom AND like Ms E!! We have a long way to go before nesting....lots (or nothing) can happen before then.!!

:sorrow: This is very sad news, but certainly not unexpected. Dorothy lived a very long productive life. Not many peregrines live so long. She was a devoted mother and really proved it last year with her developmentally delayed chick. With one peregrine seen in the nest area for most of Nov, it sounds as if she passed from old age and not from battle. This past year she was often lying down in the box. Poor gal. I pray she went to sleep peacefully. May she forever fly free with her child, Silver. The name of the new girl in town seems quite fitting for this nest site. A southern belle that appears quite fond of E2. I understand the female makes the ultimate decision who she pairs with. Welcome Hope!

:loveheart2: I remember so clearly all of us glued to the cam and Dorothy when her cutie pie couldn't get up... and sending emails and making calls. She's only the 2nd PF Mom I've watched... I thought she was wonderful. BCAW and Dorothy taught me SO much! :tissue: :loveheart2:
(I think she's the only mom whose name I remember...)

Like SGB, I choose to believe she has just retired like Freedom unless her body is found. I do like the idea of one of the Rochester girls taking over this nest! :loveheart2: I guess we'll see in the Spring who takes over this nest.

I am still emotional here. As I was re watching the tribute to Dorothy, HOpe came in. I can tell I am going have to keep my emotions in check in this season.
