This post from Perkdiggity was at the end of the "Columbus ~ June 2015, Part I" topic. I copied it to this topic so you wouldn't miss it. Also not to be missed are some pictures of the Rhodes Tower and other landmarks on the last two pages of that topic.

If you want a better idea of how peregrines fly and some fantastic footage of peregrines hunting, I found an old episode of PBS Nature Raptor Force on Youtube.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=2770&v=o6vHNFCeUCk

It discusses several different raptors' anatomy/physiology, with Peregrines getting a lot of screen time. They even strap a camera on the back of a juvie and on the first flight it stoops and catches prey.

Good morning Everyone; thank you SGB for posting and editing my pictures. I do believe that the falcon on the T is an adult and the one in the window cubby is a juvie. I also understand that the juvie flew off of the Huntington and perhaps went back to the ledge - not sure though; I really don't see too well so it was good that I had company to help me to know where to take pictures. I was downtown this morning for about 20 minutes looking on the buildings for the juvies - I thought that I heard screaming but very short lived and not sure where it came from. We are expecting a big storm coming through here with a lot of rain. It was quite breezy downtonw so I really hope the birds use their instincts to find a safe place to sit out the storm. I definitely plan to take some time off work to watch out for them so if anyone cam join me that would be so good. At least during the week we will have access to the observation tower in the Rhodes. I have simply taken pictures of the buildings and found the birds when I checked out my pictures. I have sat on top of parking garages, tried to get access from an office in the Huntington to no avail. I have tried to befriend people on the elevator in the Rhodes hoping someone would say I could watch from their office. they are very hard to find once they fledge. After all Blaze was in an underground parking lot when she was found. I am sure that Pearl and Perkdgitty can watch together - maybe even Mr. Mike Horn. We can make it a realy fledge watch- how awesome would that be!! Have a great day - thanks again SGB, you are awesome!!

OK Bolt, Flash and Storm- you have big talons to fill - you are offfspring of Scout and Orville - we need you to stay safe and strong to carry on their genes. Please sit somewhere so that we can find you and know that you are safe!!

I probably won't make it down this afternoon because of the impending weather, but I will try to stop down after work on Tuesday. I hope our precious fledglings find some dry window ledges to ride out the storms today. The Huntington window ledges where we spotted the juvie yesterday would be perfect as they are deep ledges and are on the North side of the building, so the wind shouldn't blow rain in on them.

Thanks so much Rosekk and Perk. Let's hope that Bolt will make another ledge appearance that the girls will be spotted somewhere..

Blaze did end up in some strange locations..isn't she the one that landed on the step rail at the State House? She was also found in an alley...they got pics of that rescue..

Off topic ... but thinking of strong instinct to survive ... just viewed pics of a 4 week old peregrine chick swimming after falling from nest on Hope Memorial Bridge ... sequence of photos are of chick tumbling from nest all the way through to rescue ... see C & C's Ohio Peregrine Page or Bcaw on FB. It just " ain't over til it's over" folks!!!

I hear flybys and alarm calls in the distance - I wonder if someone could look out a window and see anything from the Rhodes tower?

I've had to be away again today so it's good to get home and catch up on everything! I just saw an update from Donna too.
