Bird Cams Around the World

will be going down tomorrow as have someone say they have seen a falcon around. Bit early fo r ours but never know. Coul d be a newbie or someone passing through

I am definitely not ready

Peter and I did go and check out Weber and U of A but nothing.

We spent a few hours . checked tuck in spots etc. That does not mean no one has been around. could be ones passing through and if not our regular birds, they may not be in same spots but we stuck by box areas for quite awhile at prime time .

Will check out tomorrow as we have about 5 inches of snow ,we have to clear and I really do not feel like looking around in the snow. . Getting old . and a thought, it they saw weather , they have turned around.

last time we had this weather , our males all came back 2 week s later than females. We thought they had all died. Gord drove to Alberta border to check things out.

So as soon as I have spotted one , I will let you know. there were icicles hanging from box

Funny thing is Bev, Friday I went to the Misercordia and looked to see if anyone was home. Not, yet...lol

as of Thursday we had no one that we could see. and I do not have much time this week but will try an d go tomorrow and check things out . With Calgary having a female home we should be close.

I had hoped our cams would be up but even thought I was told they were going to connect them over a week ago , I could see no sign of them being there at cams.

We have a falocn sighting at a plant west of Edmonton and so , I have not had time but will check U of A tonight or tomorrow.

Mike is over at Weber right now. No sign of any falcons yet. He said there seems to be a couple of geese tucked in quite comfortably up top though...hope they didn't find the nestbox...that cant possibly end well, particularly for goslings looking for water...be a long long way down lol :)

they were there last year also the falcons gently chased them away. the railings keep the geese out unless Gord removed them He was thinking about it. But they were still there when I last looked

So glad to hear Radisson made it home safely!

April 7 Weber and U of A


we saw who we believe is radisson tonight and she tucked in early. Jean said she has not been hanging around but then she just got back and is probably fattening up.

we saw none at WEber but will go again tomorrow in daytime s we know if different falcons , they will not likely roost in same spots.

I did not expect to see males as we had a bad storm at border on weekend and that would slow them down. soon though

U of A

Jean just texted me and another falcon as of 9Am

she is trying to get pictures and Peter and I will head down when he gets home.

weber april8

we went to Weber again last night and 2 falcons home. One is banded and one without bands. Female has no bands so not MIss E . I knew right away when I saw head , but MIss E does not get home , usually for another week and a half. WE had another female here last year also and then MIss E returned. I want no fights so we will see what happens. I know how this works and am prepared as I can be.


this female is huge and beautiful and was hungry WE hit it lucky. male was up at nest box and we got partial band A D or O . We do believe same as last year but will have to wait till ID

we saw no cam???

our cam guy emailed me yesterday afternoon and said they are having technical difficulties but things should be up by Fridays. We will see

Not to sound like a broken record...but TY TY for the updates!

I'm sure Miss E will be back any day now and scoot the competition out of there :)

I feel so out of touch being in Ontario. I wish I was in Edmonton right now, I'm so excited everyone is returning. :)

april10 U of A

house is a mess . getting nothing done but I feel I have to observe these sites till cams are up.
so last night we went to U of A and Jean came over from apartments( and after last night i figure I have to take camera in and then somehow buy a new lens. just not powerful enough) maybe fund raise for myself. LOL

anyhow. jean had seen who we think is Chase earlier in evening but we did not see him
WE believe it was Radisson in box. until positive Id we have to wait. all was well and then after 8pm she took off east . We figured trying to get a pigeon for morning. She does that sometimes;

Then all of a sudden a falcon came back flying hard and chupping and went right into box. Then we looked and there was another flying hard.

first thought was : it chase in box and Radisson on outside. it was getting to dusk and harder to see.
I had binocs and camera , jean had camera and peter was scoping.


falcon on outside went on corner of Clinical science and I thought maybe a canoodle would happen.( As i first thought R on outside I was not expecting anything else ) then it flew across to Maz and was bowed over, so I thought same thing. But then it started flying all around maz and back of clinical science., over top of clinical science , over top of us. The whole time falcon in box was chupping ,but not alarm calling.

Peter called out falcon in box in box had bands and falcon outside had bands. it flew off before Peter could get a good read. . I looked again and it was R in box and someone else outside. We think male, as R would.d have never let a female get that close. it eventually flew away and R flew over to her perch on College plaza. She went out fast east one more time and then wen t up on high aerial on Windsor apartments for a bit and then back to her perch. She eventually went to bed and we drove around to night perches and we only saw her.
who could this be . We think it may even be one of her yo9ungsters. WE will see

so Hope all will be well. WE will hit Weber today and try to hit University tonight again. anyone want to clean my house from Easter LOL
