Ugh! That is an awful looking nest!

The Suntrust Atlanta girl is running back n forth in the planter,
now that her 3 brothers are on the floor.
She falls a lot - and even butts her head into the side! ouch!
I love that cam!! no sound but pretty view.

The Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust Facebook page has a post on May 14 that says it has been brought to their attention the female peregrine falcon has a broken beak, but they don't believe it will cause her any long term problems and it should grow back rather quickly.

I just watched a feeding by whichever adult has the broken beak, and they struggled to pull any meat off of a large pigeon. Whatever bits it got off, he/she ate it themself, and nothing was fed to the four chicks.

Looking back through the pictures on this site, one of the adults may have had a broken beak all season. But all four chicks look healthy and are growing, so maybe it hasn't been a problem. Is it Mom or Dad? What do you think?

A close up of one of the four chicks we ringed today. One male, two females and one 'not sure' - its us that's not sure, not the chick! They are sexed by weight and one chick was borderline. All the chicks are now safely back in the nest. :smilehat:
