a cam pcitre of bonding and one of chase

The rest are pictures Jean sent me from yesterday. Chase spent some time sleeping yesterday and then white came in about noon screaming . Chase brought in some duck like prey for white. White did not eat right away, so must not have been too hungry. Chase then left . Green came in about 1:30 pm yesterday and also did not eat right away. Spent some time preening and then ate. later in afternoon both boys took off south soaring with Radisson.

As we said earlier, we are discovering that the adult female does most of later training with young males. We think this is because sh e is bigger and tunes them in when needed. They are in a position right now where they could hurt Chase. But he is still providing for them :loveshow: I will discuss this observation with Gord when he gets back

So glad to see people are still posting. And, the pictures are wonderful. I don't take any, I don't have the patience, talent or equipment! But, I love to see everyone else's. They're beautiful!

Thanks to all the photographers and to those who continue to post. I still check the forum at least once daily, it's a hard habit to break!

very strange night tonihgt. WEber and U of a

We went to WEber and after almost 2 hours , no yellow but we saw both adults. I know we have to wait a bit but decided to go to U of a

So we got there at end of flying, what we did see was great, after 8pm . So we got very little in pictures. but Jean came over and said they were flying great and really put on a show. she was sure she had 3 juveniles.

so Peter and I went to turn in spots.
It is after 9pm and we have 3 in turn in spots, one on top of CP and radisson still in box. So we have 5 . we jokingly said , I wonder if one could be yellow, coming to play and have a sleep over. We all know how tough R is but... I rand into Debbie form the watch and we go back and count again. we have 5

So I came home an d played back my tape. At 6:01pm yellow band form WEber was in box.

Image

and here is R at box and white on roof just before 8pm

Image

So at 11pm, Radisson is still in box and i ma sure as confused as us.

more pictures tomorrow form jean

Weber and U of A

at 6:o1am yellow came to box , screamed and left but then came back on box, white was in box at time , then yellow went to front of box , and white left.

Radisson was at box all night and left just before 6am . Chase made an appearance an quickly left when yellow appeared

both parents have been in box at WEber.

man, I really do not have time to monitor this, but will have to. just hope yuellow goes back to Weber. Did not see him on august 8 on cam and was not too concerned , but now I am

As long as he gets fed. But I have never seen this before.

parents at WEber msut be wondering where their kid is and with only one kid, will they feed him when he comes back, if he does.

well I will post some pictures jean took last night later but Gord is away so we talked to our expert a hack site and he said, Yellow should be O.K. He is wandering and that they will feed him. He said he may drop back at WEber also.

He told us some stories from out at hack site already. He had been for a drive about 5 miles from hack site, and spotted 4 peregrines, so he stopped to investigate , to see if another nest site was around. When he wandered down all of sudden he had 7 and they were all from hack site. He said not unusual.

He said they just opened box for a few more peregrines and the adult female there killed 3 Franklin gulls and fed them all.
so he said generally, they will adopt and feed. there are always exceptions

So we will monitor the best we can

So the little juvie from Weber has turned up here? How odd. I feel sorry for his parents as they now have no babies, right? Maybe he saw Green and White flying and playing and decided to join in and just followed them home. The whole thing is a little distressing though.

Green Girl knew that yellow went to Grandma and Grandpa's house. And I agree that yellow can see white and green flying from the Weber nest. Because, we can just about see Weber from the parkade .

try not to worry. I am doing enough for all of us LOL

I will be posting in WEber thread, but he did go back for supper yesterday evening as we stayed to keep track( I think I may have posted in Weber thread already) Gord is away but our other expert at hack site said, he was probably soaring in the thermals and saw other young falcons and went where they went. This probably happens more than what we know . We just have not experienced it before. We learn every day.
]
yellow is a terrific flier and in next few days I will pot pictures we got of him. He is a very striking falcon .

Green girl and DO1 greeted him with fanfare and a meal. We will monitor as time allows but the young from both sites are gone all day and return in evening. they are honing their skills. We have found the young females tend to stick more closely to site, usually. But we have males at sites this year.
It has been a different season this year , that is for sure
