At this age the solid white coat of down the chicks have been sporting since hatching has clearly been replaced with juvenile plumage. They are growing up so fast!

Oh my goodness, look at those two little dears Ava has managed to raise despite her miserable nest situation. They are beautiful.

:flirty: :hapdance:

PS

I too remember all those nights watching the Alcoa Falcons raising their young. What fun it was.

Alcoa Anglesea Peregrine Falcon Webcam
Monday 01 December, 2014
One of our chicks has taken flight whilst the second sits tentatively on the edge of the bunker.
Image
Fledging, leaving the nest, is a part of the life cycle of the juvenile Peregrine falcon and usually occurs around day 40 which is spot on for when our bundles of white fluff were sighted.
While they are in the early stages of learning to fly, employees around the power station keep a special eye out for the juveniles that may come to ground or rest on structures around the station as they recover for the next burst of flight.

I am so happy to see this.

I guess changing nest sites was too hard on Havoc and these two will hopefully continue to have good luck. It is hard to go to the condo when you have had the penthouse.

We have reached the end of another breeding season here at Alcoa Anglesea and, thankfully, it has been a successful one. It has brought much joy to see the Peregrine falcons have breeding success here once again. Our two chicks have taken flight and we now wait for Ava and Pozieres to return to the Station in 2015. We hope you have continued to enjoy this season on the web and that you too will tune in again next year. If you have any feedback on the information and images we have provided this year, please contact us.

I wish they could have at least posted more pictures. Well as long as the chicks fledged well & Ava & New guy are alright, thats what matters.
Thanks Ferenz for posting.

OH MY...just got this response from Elise:

thank you very much for your email.

the peregrine falcon pair are back at the station. last time i checked they had not settled down on the bunker to lay any eggs yet.

the Alcoa Anglesea operations are actually closing on August 31, 2015.

unfortunately the workforce at Anglesea has been made redundant so there won't be anyone here to monitor the pair after this date for the website.

i'm sure the pair will do just fine and will enjoy having the place to themselves.

it has been a pleasure conversing with you about peregrine falcons over the years.

    elise
