5:43pm Looks like the tail-end of a feed going on - the little one (who had the leg stuck earlier today) is not eating. Chat is indicating that s/he didn't eat during the last feeding (approx. 1 hour ago).

I haven't been watching constantly, only peeking in now and then. Earlier, after the leg-swallowing incident, the little one wandered over to the ledge side of the nest (in the corner where all the junk is). It looked like 2 of the others were walking around a lot, too (so cute!).

Added: 5:46pm Feeding over, parent not in cam view.

(I don't think I've had sound on this cam for a couple of weeks, when I could hear the parents talking.)

Chicks in a pile... sleeping.
Chat is indicating that the chick with the leg stuck was able to "get it down" and wasn't showing distress.
Whew!

Man...I've seen that more times than I care to see. I always worry about the talons on the foot...

I'm trying to figure out why the one chick didn't return to the pile at dark. Was that the chick that had the leg stuck?

Yes, Sky - that little one had the foot sticking out of his mouth. He wandered over to the left 'feather-trash' corner yesterday.
I think the chicks have paired off - the little one has a 'buddy' and the other two hang out together (sometimes!).

Thanks bonbon..

Generally, the chicks stay together at this age...as they get older, they may/will spread out and the chick pile will slowly cease to exist...

The chick with its mouth open had just finished swallowing (thank goodness) a leg/foot

Attention Falcon Cam Fans: Today between 1:30 and 3:00pm USFWS Raptor Biologist Craig Koppie will band the eyases and will shut down the cam feed during that time. Thank you for your patience. The annual eyas class photo will be posted later today!
