Unfortunately, the stream switches to highlights for short spurts here and it is usually one of a hatching egg with parent.

Parents were off eggs for more than 3 hours. At first I thought unguarded, but did see a flap of a wing from far left screen at one point on DVR. Probably being guarded, but we can not see on cam. Still puzzling is the lack of incubation at times here, warm enough weather or not, when other nests you are darn lucky to be there at nest exchange and even get to see the eggs! No pips seen from this view of eggs. Barb did return for incubation. Thanks for the pic, kittenface!

12.45 pm Barb is shielding the eggs from hot sun, panting
I keep trying to look UNDER her - lol
1.50 pm shade covers Barb and eggs - whew

1 pm eggs are safe in shade so Barb leaves - she needs water or a juicy pigeon
I still say they're hatching
falcon back on eggs peeping - looking up

7.20 pm I got a pic of eggs

Its very hot up there
You know how hot a sidewalk is in the sun?
I wonder if barb is being burned

wish she'd nest under the bridge corner of nest

I don't know if you can see from this capture, but one parent is incubating the eggs.

I'm glad you saw the wing, I didn't and got real worried. :nervous: I wondered why they were not on the eggs for so long, but I guess she knows what shes doing more than I do.

6.15 am Barb is on her eggs
7.15 WHERE IS BO? Barb keeps looking for him and calling.
That end spot looking like a hatching chick yesterday - but it hasnt changed, so ...

Boh has always been faithful to Barb and his eggs.
Is Boh still around? Is it possible ANOTHER MALE is around?
Barb took over this spot after fighting the first female
THAT would explain Barb being the only one incubating

in Kentucky, the female lost her mate and is feeding 4 beeks alone -
and doing FANTASTIC

Kittenface, I'm not sure what's up with the pattern of incubation here recently ... it's very curious though ...

Found Barb off eggs once in last 4 hours on DVR. No pips seen this view. Did not see Boh or at least not within view of the cam capabilities.

12.45 pm Another falcon is harassing her as she stands over eggs in hot sun
She kaks at it. I seriously doubt its Boh.

3 pm
She leaves eggs and goes on top of bridge to look around
I thot she was hunting - looking for Bo - looking down for a hapless bird..
but she went back to eggs. Its possible Boh followed prey into a building and got closed in and couldnt get it. Its happened before elsewhere

3 pm She leaves eggs and goes on top of bridges to look around

03:05pm, Barb sees something to the left and leaves in a hurry.
CAM ZOOMED ON EGGS - 2 ARE HATCHING - you dont see a pip
My guess is we will see fluffies in the morning - true - only my guess ....

I am now concerned about Bo

I DO NOT like this

:nervous:

Barb continues to incubate eggs. Going back on DVR, Boh is not seen and the cams focus is a little off, causing the one look at the eggs too blurry to detect any possible pipping. Did notice her at one point watching the skies and talking. They started their pip watch a little earlier than most here, but without checking, this is approx day 32.

Saw the eggs on the DVR approx 1/2 hour ago and there are no changes. Still just Barb is seen.

but - then he shud bring her dinner!
He has been buzzing her for a couple days now

https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/e7 ... 82bda9.png

Of course it could be last years fledge
I am certain its NOT Boh

:spring1: Barb is still hanging in there. On the DVR, when eggs last seen you can not see any changes from this view of them, but someone needs to focus the cam as it is too blurry. Also, I am aware of the continued flybys. Hoping things will work out here, but very unsettled for now. Will continue to monitor them through out the day, but not posting as often.

Nubo
April 25, 2019 Temp 62 - 73
Boh went missing and a new male has been displaying for Barb
I will call him Nubo (new Boh)

6 am There's Barb on eggs
7.20 am Barb gets up, stretchs, goes up on the bridge and peers over,
- takes a quick fly and is right back on eggs
7.30 off again, but right back - poor girl
9 am She takes another 5 minute flybreak,
- returns mumbling - Boh where in the GHO are you?!
8.08 another break - top of bridge - bobs head - looks down, up, side to side
8.11 she dives
11.45 am She takes 5 minutes breaks

2 pm She goes up on the bridge then jumps off. Gone 5 minutes
She always returns peeping - I think she's talking to the spare falcon flying around

5.20 pm Barb is talking to Nubo - I cant see him but she can

She took another break, maybe to play with Nubo
After these courtship displays, Nubo should bring prey to her
https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/76 ... fed8a9.png

She best hunt, eat NOW - cant once chicks hatch!
There is still another falcon flying around there.
Could be another male seeking a mate or last years fledge

Explore has notes and people are getting pictures
Nubo is a regular flyby
https://explore.org/livecams/falcons/pe ... onservancy

Terka took a pic of Boh April 22 so he was there then

I am encouraged! Barb knows what she has to do
Sorry if my notes are scattered

April 26, 2019 Temp 60-75 rains, Thunderstorms, 15-25mph Winds
Boh hasn't been seen since the 23rd
6 am Barb protecting her eggs from light rain
6.20 She is peeping, she hears Nubo reply - she's away only a minute or so
6.35 Another break - she may have heard him call, no way to know
- falcons will drop prey to each other in the air - we have no way to know if Nubo's doing this
6.38 she returns
6.48 - OK I am NOT going to type each break - she's on eggs 5, break, eggs, break
** She hocked up a hork so she HAS eaten something!

7 am Barb is vocalizing, not kakking but looks stronger than friendly peeping.
- Nubo is flying back & forth, whoosh whoosh, probly begging her come & play
- Perhaps she is saying I have a FAMILY you nincompoop! Bring me FOOD!
She sure is vocalizing up a storm

:buzzybee: :egg13:

:spring1: The BONDING
8.20 am Barb gives him heck, up quick, exits, dives to our right
She returns shortly - it *appeared she deposited something, assume prey, on step
9.45 am Nubo lands on bridge, comes down to curb, Barb does NOT threaten
The 2 dance around in the falcon PEEP n BOW bonding routine
He acted like he wanted her to move eggs under shade of bridge
He visited the discarded egg, stood over it, then RAN back to Barb who chased him off
He stays a VERY LONG TIME! I was astonished!
9.15 He is gone. I took many pics on RRP
HE WAS SO BOLD!!
https://www.raptorresource.org/forum/in ... ic=2574.30

o bev I am so happpy your here! :sum9:

I know he was there ABOUT half hour

:penguin: :sum9: :egg5:

11.30 am Barb has left Nubo ALONE in the nest with her eggs - I assume to go eat
He scrapes under the bridge - surely he wont move the eggs there!
He is examining every inch of the nest - tasting everything
I knew he'd guard the eggs but probly not incubate
He looks at the eggs which he can likely HEAR
11.40 he left and Barb returned right away and SCOLDED him.
- This is playing out just like Kentucky

12.20 eggs alone - Nubo came, guarded awhile and left. HE'S SO CUTE!
12.30 Barbs back

I am surprised she's already left him alone there
But its a good sign
