Earlier, prey was delivered I assume. The chick in the back has it. Excitement all around.


Then later everyone having a look out there.

One did a wing test. I believe they work just fine!!!

They look like they are hanging on the street corner looking for chicks in that last one!

Yesterday the first one fledged! Maria has confirmed, she saw her/him fly quite well. (Info from Birdcam Italy forum)
Early this morning (local time) an earthquake has hit the area (5.9). Bologna itself seems to be okay, even the webcams are still working.

Oh dear, I hope everyone is doing alright following the earthquake. My Italian friends are in my prayers.

Sandro has just posted on our forum that he's only seen two recently so it's very likely that No. 2 has also fledged. It could have chosen a better day - it's very wet here in central-northern Italy with torrential rain and temperatures well below the seasonal norms

That urge to fly often occurs during less than optimal conditions. I think, sometimes, they are flapping away and get blown off with a strong gust. And then it is a case of fly or....
