I hear Port Washington is lovely too. No marina, but beautiful landscape along the lake.

I've seen that and have actually walked along that marina. My niece Katie graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee a couple of years ago and Racine and this marina was one of our sightseeing stops. It's lovely.

Cool Sally. I would like to visit Racine and see the Frank Lloyd Wright buildings there. I have heard it is all interesting.

Yes on the Frank Lloyd Wright house! We have three of his homes here in Buffalo, NY. My sister really likes him so we've gone during their restorations and then after. He was a very talented man.

Hugely talented with an even bigger ego. I have seen several of his homes, Taliesin in Spring Green, WI, Taliesin West in Phoenix and a small one in Virginia. Going to Falling Water and Kentuck Knob in Pennsylvania later this year. May have to put Buffalo on my list too. I often travel through Buffalo [I-90] on my way from Indiana to Massachusetts. It would be a nice place to stop and spend a day or 2.

Hi Gigi, I know the I-90 well - it's my route to and from work 5 days a week! The Statler Hotel in downtown Buffalo is home to a family of peregrine falcons! Yes I would say Frank Lloyd Wright had some issues! (understatment) But he did have a big benefactor here in Buffalo - Darwin Martin. The Darwin Martin home is beautiful. Have a great day.
Sally

Gigi, you'll have a big treat when you go to Fallingwater. Actually, the best time to go is when the azaleas are in bloom since there are many around Fallingwater.

Oh that sounds lovely. I love azaleas and although I have tried, I have never had luck growing them here. Soil is not acidic enough and it has to be enriched and I couldn't ever get it right. Maybe another trip.
