Good luck, Sally...and thanks so much for taking the trip out..

I'm just checking in before heading out to work..

Dixie (?) dozing on the eggs, no panting, occasionally mouth ajar..

Dixie is still on the eggs (dozing on/off). She isn't panting, but she is periodically mouth breathing

current temps: 51 F/11 C

I'm back this evening

Calm/cool/collected...so, what the heck has changed I wonder?

Glad its been a fairly "normal" looking day..except Sally, sorry you didn't see anything..but, strange, strange, strange..LOL

I'm planning on going again tomorrow but maybe towards dusk.....

I have not seen any panting today. Just r & r for both!

I'm curious though, we only saw the eggshell. Are we to assume nothing was in it or did Dixie eat it? I don't think anyone mentioned seeing anything other than the shell.

I just had a thought! Do you think there could have been some heat pouring into the nest from the building and maybe the problem was corrected last evening or today? That's why there is no panting today perhaps!!!!! Hmmmmmmm

So, did somebody pump air conditioning into the box?

Or they stopped the heat since it's warmer outside the past 2 days. They were better yesterday as the day progressed and today is like totally different. This has been a cold few months compared to most years - maybe they pumped heat longer, maybe something...I don't know, I just don't know...I am not there so I can't really say.

I'm also not qualified in any way to say whether a bird is sick or not unless there are really obvious signs but I am relieved to see her behavior this evening, I just pray it's not short lived and that if there was something going on it has stopped.

I've been praying too! Thank you for sticking right with me on this or I think I was sticking with you! LOL

I sent a message to Sage asking about the heating issue.......
