they are reporting

a third is not as bad as if this had been the fourth.

If enough food , it should survive.

Will see what i can find

These babies are so hungry, they are beaking each other. Clara has been up and down 3 times. I think FC just came in to cover. Mabye food will be on the way shortly. It's been raining here.

And I'm not seeing 3. I still only see 2. Hoping when food comes in we can see if there are 3.

Clara always seems to have a shortage of food and given how big the other two are and with food being scarce they would just hog all the food..I would be surprised to see a small one survive. I hope there is only two as well.

I don't know why... Here's a thought... The primary food in San Jose is pigeon. I wonder if less meals come in because of large size prey. In some other nests, we see smaller birds brought in (robins, flickers, black birds, jays, etc). I do know with the drought, many of the rivers have dried up. I'm thinking the Guadalupe river. FC used to hunt down there and bring in water birds (avocets). I wonder if this is having an impact on birds... no grasses/berries/insects to eat, lower reproduction/survival, = less prey for peregrines?

Just a thought.

For these kids to be 5 & 7 days and I didn't catch a feed today, but I also have not been watching constantly.

6:57pm pt- Feed going on. I see 2 up and eating.

7:07 - Feed over. Kids are full. Again, I only see 2.

Kids are moving a little, to try and get under Clara.. I'm only seeing 2. I know I'm repeating myself...

I watched a feed a little while ago, they were starving it seemed, but got full. I did not see a third chick in there.

They must have had cuteness lessons in the egg! These 2 are natural hams! :loveshow:

Good grief, she fed the bigger chick first, maybe 30 bites before the little chick even got a shot at it. The first bite the first chick got was a big feather and it kept eating with that feather sticking out of it's mouth the whole time just about.
Well the prey was big and they are getting really full.

Just watched a feed. The prey was big and they had more than enough.

Here they are trying to back up to avoid another bite. I thought they were going to jump out of the nest for a minute there.

Was anybody watching just now? Clara has some leftover prey it looks like. Did FC bring it in because I'm not sure I've seen him in a day or two, but frankly haven't been watching that much.

Thank you! I had not seen any updates on the Yahoo forum. I was watching for a bit when Clara was standing in front of the kids, but was outside for awhile and turned cam off.
