Not seeing any of the chicks nor parents right now.

I haven't seen chicks for a few days. Although not knowing what the layout is, I presume they are roaming nearby. :loveheart2:

Golly, T!! I can't believe you caught one in the nest after all this time! Congrats!! There are 3 lying in the nest side by side right now!! Oops, they are starting to leave ...

I just can't believe after all this time of checking and not seeing anyone, all of a sudden we have them!! Two juvies are currently present.

I received John's nesting report today. No surprises.

"Petersburg, IPL (AES – Indiana) Power plant – 2012, 2014-21; 19 chicks fledged (2.56/year)
female – b/r C/17; 1st year; wild-produced in St. Louis, MO, 2014
male – Mack - b/r *V/*X; wild-produced in Cincinnati, OH, 2011
Camera replaced on 2/25. No eggs present. Banded (new) female at nest box on 3/2.;
courtship behavior with male (purple federal band and mangled, faded color band; consistent
with bird present last few years). Scrape present. *V read on band on 3/12. First egg laid on

3/15 around 9 PM; second on 3/18 at 7:30AM; 3rd on 3/20 around 5PM; 4 on 3/23 in AM.
Eggshell noted by 6AM on 4/25; 2 chicks and pipping egg by 8AM; third by 1PM. Fourth chick
noted late on 4/26. Four female chicks banded on 5/20. All were out of the nest box on 5/25."

The report also included this: "Black/blue 77/Y (Petersburg, 2019) was found dead near Ghent, KY on 3/12/21."

My guess is with a net. But that is only a guess.
