The new peregrine adults at the AES Harding Street Power Station now have names appropriate for birds at an electrical power station! They are named for Nikola Tesla, the scientist, inventor, physicist who is responsible for inventing the Alternating Current method of transporting electricity. Tesla was so convinced that alternating current was superior to Edison's direct current that he was willing to hand over all rights to George Westinghouse. He essentially died penniless.

We have a falcon hanging out on the ledge at Harding, too!

Harding had a visitor in their nestbox this afternoon.

One of Harding’s falcons is perched on the lip of the nestbox. Beautiful and serene- its chest is white with narrow dark lines mixed in the feathers. Is this Tess or Nik ? I can’t see bands due to it’s position.

I almost always catch a Harding falcon out on the perch in the morning….and there she is….
PS - Tess’ first egg last year was March 18 :biggrin:

Best thing Ive seen all day! Harding - In the first catch Nick was flying fast into the nest box- still in the air! Then the next catch Nick was perched on he lip of the nest box and Tess was in the box, and they were joyfully bonding :loveshow:
