 Loza! I have to laugh a little because it is the same for me. The only way I really know is if they are both there, or if somehow I can read the bands.... My friend Matrix can also tell falcons apart easily. How do they do it?? Anyway, don't give up- I always enjoy how you are able to find the falcons "at home" so you can get the great pictures! Keep up the good work!

 Ahh- what a beautiful up-close look at this beautiful falcon. But Loza, it has its back to us -I can't look for the two speckles that Terka talked about. The falcon looks big, but it is right near the cam. Matrix would say "look at the malars" but I forget the difference..... oh well, I am happy to see which ever it is, Moxie or Jamie!!

Beautiful captures, Ladies!! I love when you catch them in mid air, when they have just taken off. Looking at Jamie, I was thinking back to when he first found his way to Ft Wayne, and the female Freedom was still here. She was very old, and suddenly she disappeared. Next thing you know a young female, still in her juvie plumage was at the nestbox with Jamie. It was Moxie! She had no thoughts of mating and having babies, and yet Jamie was kind and patient with her. The next year they started showing us what a strong pair they would be!

Thanks for the great coverage here!! Don't feel bad Tsusan and loza..I have a hard time telling them apart when they aren't together. I didn't watch this cam enough last year to learn their differences...glad there are others who are great with IDing!! |
