I think it is Zephyr. . .the way he looks at the kids is different than G. .Hope I'm not wrong. .

I am not sure carly. Here are pictures of the City County Building at 227 W. Jefferson Blvd in South Bend, both street view and one of the roof. I know their nest box is on the top, but I can't really tell exactly where it is. My guess is that the top of the box is white. It must be accessible somehow, but I do not know the particulars. I also added these pictures to the South Bend Cam and History page and if I can determine more info on the next box, I will add that too.

It is dry, so probably not. It must have been alive earlier today or I think it would have been removed from the nest. Poor little thing... :egg15:

The chicks are almost out of cam range, so it isn't easy to see them. In fact, I was just watching 2 moving around & all of a sudden, there was another head sticking up! :egg14:

The 3 survivors just had/are having a nice long meal. Nice full crops... I thought they had finished a bit ago because the 2 I could see had fallen over in a food stupor, but they're back at it again!

I have been so busy this week that I have hardly looked at any of the cams, but the last time I looked on Tuesday I am sure there were only 3. The perch gets in the way of a good look.

Last year the same thing happened. Four chicks hatched and Guinevere did not feed the smallest. I think Guinevere had to help Zephyr hunt and that may be the case this year too. I was hoping she would only lay 3 eggs, but ...

WOW, so sad .. I had no clue the 4 egg hatched either .. bless its little heart. .it is just so tragic when there is a late hatch. .It just doesn't seem fair. That was probably a perfectly healthy little guy too. . :cryinggirl:
