INDY (MARKET TOWER)-2017

They retrieved the body. Badly decomposed but bands intact so we have a positive ID of KathyQ. We only saw one falcon flying about so we have still not positively identified Sesenta.

Now IndyStar has to re-aim the cameras at their end.

Although I would have liked to have removed the body earlier, I understand them waiting until after the eggs were laid and the female having something to defend and come back to.

Thank you to all involved. Good to have closure on it, even though we all were sure it was her. She will always reside in the Hall of Legends., never to be forgotten.
And yes, life does go on. Sesenta will finally become a father. He really deserves it, after the years of commitment and dedication to KathyQ.

Yes, I see them too now that you have pointed them out. We were worried when we did not see 2 birds today. But he was somewhere nearby probably, waiting for the excitement to die down.

Even though we were 99.9 % sure it was KathyQ, now its confirmed and real. RIP, dear girl!! You and Kenney were quite the pair and one of the first I ever watched. I'm so glad her final moments were in HER nest..Her genes live on in Sesenta!! (thanks for confirming that!!) :15heartbeat:

I read about the positive ID of KathyQ last night. SO sad. She was truly a legend. We experienced something like this in Harrisburg in 2010 when we lost our beloved Mom. She would have been the same age as KathyQ. :tissue:

I remember Mom's death and it was also sad. But while we mourn our loss, life goes on.

We are all excited about Willow & Sesenta's eggs and the prospect of new life again at Market Tower.

I think it is amazing that she died in there and has been present, up until removal, for her future grand chicks developing in those eggs.
Glad Sesenta was/is still the resident male!!
Another generation of Kinney and KathyQ will once again grace downtown, if all goes well.

Senseta watched over his mom since he came there. I am so proud of him. He did not go looking for a new mate, he was loyal. unfortunately one found its way here. WE knew this day would come, but it is hard none the less.

with tears we say good bye to a great one. But as said here, her genes live on in these eggs. It is Sensatas' turn for greatness now. The torch is passed. your spirit is free now. Fly high and well . :15heartbeat:

I am almost glad this new female has no bands, no one to live up to. she can just be herself
