Bird Cams Around the World

now is nail biting time.
We watch these little fluff balls develop and love them all to bits.
and then the time comes, and we should be happy , but we hate to see them go. and further more we hold our breath with each flight they take.

Ground report. Well, I wasn't planning of doing these quite yet, but as we all know juvenile peregrines often are on their own schedule. About 3:30 this afternoon Laura called to say that one of the chicks was off the perch and onto the ledge. WAy too early. These kids are in no way ready to fledge, so we are thinking this was one big OOPSY!

When I arrived downtown, meeting up with another patrol friend, Barbara, our wayward chick was out and about walking the ledge in that funny pacing kind of walk they do. Did not seem to be in any distress and the parents were nearby presumably to come to its aid if need be - and feed it too probably - although we did not see that.

The following pictures were taken from the ground with a 40X zoom. Not great, but you can get the idea. The first 2 show the out and about chick with the second one showing where he was when we left for the evening. The third shows KQ sitting on the ledge outside the box with one chick to our left on the perch above her. The 4th picture is for reference so you can get an idea of the proximity of traveling man [and I am not sure this is Dox] to the nest box.

Going down tomorrow morning hopefully to just sit and enjoy the view. Until then....

On my way downtown shortly to see if I can see the chick out of the box from the street. I was hoping he would walk back in front of the nest box so I could see that he was okay... I will report later.
