SGB, so glad you caught Zephyr at the nest! :egg5:

Susan, I'm going on vacation in a couple of weeks to Nebraska (yeah, I have family there) and I was thinking I'd like to do that but hubby wouldn't go for it...hope you get to do it!

All I caught was a pile of sleepy babies one would raise a head for a nano second
then down then the next and the next but not all at once so I thought this was a
good chick pile pic.

:egg10: However, by Tuesday morning, the family of peregrines had lost one of its youngest. Over the weekend, the male chick was blown away from the nest, presumably by a strong gust of wind and unable to fly yet, fell tragically to the roof of the fifth floor of the building.

“He got inadvertently dumped down onto the fifth floor roof sometime over the weekend,” said Carol Riewe, a local naturalist who frequently monitors the falcons via webcam.

That was a great video, and shows exactly where the nest is located. I'd been wondering.

I think these 2 are the best it shows Zephyr being very aggressive if you zoom in you can see that the bands are B/R :egg5:

Oh my, that Zephr is ferocious when it comes to protecting his family! Glad nobody got seriously injured.

Very sad about the little boy. :tissue: That's happening at a number of nests, but some chicks are lucky to not be injured (or worse).

Thanks for sharing that info, Kitten & thanks for your pics, Susan!

Welcome to BCAW, Marineof2!
