That would be great. Petersburg is about 180 miles south east of Cincinnati, so that would make sense. Thanks for the detective work. :hapdance:

I sent John Castrale the info and here is what he said:
"The only sideways V’s in the Midwest database were mostly issued and used by me in 2010, all for males. In fact, one of these birds could be from Market Tower."

Laura added: "I just did a search in the midwest peregrine database and the MT bird would be Hatton - who was named after the Hattons in Westfield and who Gigi volunteers for. Wouldn't that be something! We'll keep looking in. And it could also be another IPL Stout bird too. That would be a falcon coincidence. Love these falcon sub-plots."

Now if this is Hatton, the last time I saw him, was shortly after I took him back to Market Tower 31 for a do over. He had ended up on the ground and spent the night at the Indianapolis Animal Control in a cage in the cattery. This is how he looked when I went to retrieve him. I do not have a good picture of his bands so we will have to keep looking to confirm which bird this is.

Another email from John:
"I’m not sure if I’m just seeing things, but the bottom character looks most like a sideways K (a South Bend bird) or sideways X (Ohio bird). Let me know if you get a better view or if another bird makes an appearance. I would really like that nest box to be used this year. It was an Eagle Scout project."

This is exciting news...of course, we need for the banded bird to return...

the unbanded bird kind of looked like a male to me...but, gosh...who really knows. Sure would be nice if we had a pair here...

Now..to try and figure out that band...

I've been looking also MA and it looks almost silver on bottom now. I know thee is no bands that way so it is going to take a miracle to see that bottom band.

Man oh man. That bottom band is hard to read. I was at bird rehab today and shared with the Hattons the possibility that this might be their namesake or a bird from Cincinnati.

John Castrale is hoping that the pair will use the box since it was an eagle scout project. It sounds like they are seriously considering the real estate. :flirty:

Well, I see something different everytime I look at the bottom part of that band. I'm just hoping that maybe somebody at IPL has a better/clearer view than we do and/or the bottom of that band cleans up.

Remember how hard it was to read Eve's bands at Cobb? We couldn't read the numbers much less tell that it was Green..

Both seem very comfortable in the box...hope they both make it in there tomorrow.
